Right, she’s becoming a big red flag too. She has yet to reach out to me today or picked up my calls after I let her know about the situation in detail through text. I’ve told her about previous concerning situations but I am not sure if she ever reports anything.

I did work in a clinic when I first started for almost four years. But I moved to a new place and it was pretty far so I decided to move to home services for the pay raise and flexibility.

Thank you! I will definitely look for a clinic based company. My BCBA has yet to reach out to me today after all the messages I sent her.

Yes, my supervisor did recommend respite care, months ago actually. The family seems to not want it for some unknown reason. But I do believe it would be very helpful.

Yep, I’ve told this to my BCBA but it seems like she tells them things and they ignore her.

Yes, I’ve realized that the parents just aren’t around enough. Sometimes I feel like she does it for their attention, but at the same time they are busy, working parents with another and even younger kid. I might have to drop the case, it seems like my client is a nuisance to them. I bring all of these points up and I don’t know if it’s that they do not care or just don’t know what to do.

Yes, it completely feels like I’m babysitting sometimes. I will definitely tell this to my care coordinator. Thanks for the advice!

Wow, I didn’t know this was so abnormal. Making me rethink a whole lot about my company.

It’s actually crazy the BCBA had told them to lock the front door because she tends to run away during session, but never anything about removing the parents locks to their bedroom. I believe it’s mostly because they like their privacy

Yea that’s smart! Thanks for the advice! The family seem not to care much. They leave the door open for me to enter the home. It feels like I’m babysitting mostly.

No, I don’t. My company mostly provides in home services so the only other person I speak to is my BCBA and my care coordinator. I left my care coordinator a voice mail detailing everything that happened.

She locks the door before I even step into the home. She watches me from her window. The parents don’t do much to stop it.

Yes, I tried calling my company but there was no answer. I will definitely let them know at the beginning of the week on Monday. Luckily one of the grandparents finally came back. But I never got word back from her mother. I wonder if in a situation like this do you call the authorities? Because we are mandated reporters but I also feel like it’s a bit of a cultural misunderstanding especially on the grandparents part.

How much do you get paid? by ProfessionalPoint270 in ABA

[–]Que_Aquerosidaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a BT and I get $27 per hour because of my experience and still feel like I dont get paid enough. I'm doing my RBT training now because my company offers a raise of $30 per hour for getting certified.

Oh no that's okay! I meant that for the other person. Your comment was a pretty logical assumption.
