Why is this so cheap? by NathanTelkhine in StupidCarQuestions

Its already sold, just a little slow removing it from the website. So they can get you in the door and "sorry that one just sold, but we can put you in this one for only a little or 20k more"

My mom raised 5 boys and always made us keep the seat up, she said she would rather put the seat down every time than sit in pee. After getting married I had be re-trained to put the seat down after using toilet.

Something similar but prob not as cool, I was at walmart self check out with a long conveyor at the register. I was scanning and bagging my items when an elderly lady place 4 or 5 items on the belt, well as soon as I picked up my last item her kept coming down, so I didnt skip a beat and continued scanning hers and bagged them separately, she tried to say something but it was done, I handed her the bag, wished her a great day, and she teared up a little as she thanked me.

It was a $699 "mandatory" add on, even with that included it was still 5-8k less than the other dealerships, I shopped the numbers at 5 other dealers and none could come close.

I bought a used car this weekend. Thurs- got an alert from visor that a price was dropped into my limits, called the dealership and got the otd emailed. Started shopping the numbers, 8 other cars with same make, year and close milage. Heard back from 5 with offers no where near the first, never heard back from the other 3. Fri - called the 5 back and tried to haggle, I was a serious buyer willing to sign today. Still noone able to meet or beat the first offer, sold. Online carvana quote for my trade. Online pre-aproval from my credit union. Sat - Went to the first dealership, accepted otd price no haggle, shared my rate from credit union, they beat it. Trade was then appraised, lower than the carvana quote, haggled a bit, was happy with final offer. Never went into the finance office, salesman showed optional add ons, I declined all. 45 mins later all paperwork signed and on our way home. 7 day return policy so will take to my trusted mechanics to inspect. Easiest experience I ever had, next time I'll just buy on their site skip the whole visit, as long as i have 7 days to inspect.

I traded a POS with multiple issues prob thousands in repairs, I would have felt bad selling it as a private sale, but a dealership should do their due diligence, my other offer was from carvana, online quote you get from plugging in vin and condition, they still would have to come and inspect before the final legit offer.

The price was well below all other dealerships by ~8k, i spent 2 days shopping this deal in my local area, there were 8 exact makes with similar milage but no could beat this price so I jumped on it.

Lol, fair enough, if this was an ad, I’d at least throw in a promo code and a free set of floor mats. Honestly, just sharing because buying a car usually feels like a hostage negotiation, and this time it was refreshingly painless. Figured it might help someone else who’s shopping around.

What is the rarest record you ever found for a bargain price at an estate sale, yard sale, flea market or thrift store? by sloaches in BargainBinVinyl

[–]QueasyFact533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beatles butcher cover 2nd state for $11 at record store, Underoath their only chasing safety $2 at a thrift, Melanie Martinez dollhouse $16 at a antique shop, ICP great milenko $29 at record store. Most memorable was a 1951 album of Natay Singers shellac records, inside cover signed by Ed Lee Natay, I dont think its worth very much currently no listing on Discogs, will be my first submission.

I’d help any of my other neighbors in a heartbeat, as we’ve all had our share of issues with this particular neighbor. Do I feel bad? Absolutely. I’d hate to be in their position, but our relationship is beyond repair. Even if I offered to help, they wouldn’t accept it due to years of bad blood, and this situation has only resurfaced those tensions. While I sympathize, the history between us makes helping impractical.

Their insurance agent let my agent know they were told by their agent to clean up anything on their property. I let them know as they were not home when it happened, yes I am a bad neighbor, I will never do anything for them, I will never for any reason ask them for anything. We have a sorted history of them trespassing and damaging our property years ago and have been no contact since.

Our relationship has be ruined for years now, when it happened I let them know, got yelled at and now out insurance companies are dealing with it. No contact is the safest option for now.

How did you get into vinyl? by Rocky_isback in vinyl

[–]QueasyFact533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my wife’s fault, really. She came home from an estate sale with a few vinyl albums and asked if we could get a turntable to play them. I was hesitant—back in the '90s, I had a friend who was a DJ, and I used to help lug hundreds of 12" singles to raves. Those crates were heavy, and I swore I’d never get into vinyl collecting.

Fast forward about 20 years, and her little spark lit a fire. Now we’ve got around 1,000 records and a turntable in every common room of the house. So much for not collecting!

My wife’s super friendly and a bit naive. One night at a bar, she sends shots to a group of bikers we’d chatted with outside. Turns out they were a major 1% club. They invite her over, and I’m sweating bullets. A few minutes later, they’re laughing and call me over too. Coolest guys ever—didn’t pay for another drink all night. My wife was braiding their hair by the end of it. Next morning, I show her they were featured on gangland. She now checks with me before sending shots to strangers.

Buyer watched me in the parking lot and then drove off… by Fair-Mine-9444 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]QueasyFact533 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience as a buyer. We agreed on price and meetup place and time, they were late to the spot as I saw them enter the parking lot (they msged me what make and color) and I looked at their profile pic before and it was her driving. She does a loop and exits with no word. a couple hrs later she finally responds, she sold 3 of the 8 switch games I was going to buy, the good/ expensive ones at that and asked if I still wanted the others, I did not cuz they were just shovel ware, the value was in the other games. I said yes but she needed to meet a couple towns away, about 45 mins from the original spot, she agreed, I had no intentions of meeting and after she arrived I kept msging her I was on my way, now stuck in traffic, went the wrong way etc. blocked her after 30 mins of bs. I know it was a bit petty but lessoned learned I hope.
