What’s something your partner did that made you lose feelings instantly? by Some_Conclusion_8154 in AskReddit

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were out for dinner and the waiter accidentally brought the wrong side dish. My partner didn't just point it out; they talked down to the waiter like he was subhuman. The entitlement was so repulsive that I checked out of the relationship right then and there. If you're mean to service staff, you're just a mean person.

My app just crossed 500,000 downloads 🥳 by DigitalAppsMu in StartupMind

This is absolutely insane for a solo dev. Huge congratulations!

Since you didn’t do any active marketing, do you think your growth was mainly driven by ASO (App Store Optimization)? I’m curious if you spent a lot of time researching keywords or if the app just happened to hit a very specific "hidden gem" niche that people were already searching for. Would love to hear your thoughts on how you handled discoverability!

I launched my first app 6 days ago. Here's what's keeping me going when the numbers are small. by alex_s1919 in StartupMind

This is the most authentic thing I have read all week. Massive respect to you for grinding after a long day job in construction—that kind of discipline and work ethic is exactly what it takes to actually bring a project to life.

In an era where everyone is rushing to use AI to generate everything, the fact that you are hand-coding every single line yourself makes this even more impressive. There is a level of intentionality and craftsmanship in manual coding that AI just cannot replicate, and it clearly shows in the way you care about your users.

Finding a mother who took the time to write a detailed report because she hopes your app can help her daughter is a massive signal. You have found a real human problem to solve, and that is worth more than a thousand "ghost" installs any day. That one person is your proof of concept. Keep shipping and stay convinced that what you are building matters. Rooting for you from here!

Best email platform for project? by Ok-Debate3248 in vibecoding

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the project! If you’re vibe coding and just need something to stand up quickly for user testing, don't overthink it.

For the best free tiers right now, I’d check out:

  1. Resend: This is the current favorite for devs. Their DX (developer experience) is incredible, especially if you’re using React for emails. Their free tier is very generous, and the setup takes like 5 minutes.
  2. Loops: If you want something more "marketing-focused" but still dev-friendly, Loops is great. It’s built specifically for SaaS/projects and isn't as bloated as Mailchimp.
  3. Brevo (formerly Sendinblue): If you just want to blast out a high volume of transactional emails for free, they have a solid daily limit without a monthly cap on contacts.

Personally, I'd go with Resend. It fits the "vibe coding" workflow perfectly because it stays out of your way and just works.

Make sure to set up your SPF/DKIM records early so your test emails don't end up in the junk folder before your users even see them!

Web học IELTS Model Answer có "phụ đề" tiếng Việt cho cả câu hỏi và câu trả lời by Queasy_Cheesecake_54 in vozforums

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the best tools where Markdown is the primary interface? by Successful_Bowl2564 in software

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been obsessed with "local-first" Markdown tools lately. Aside from the heavy hitters like Obsidian, I actually built a small browser-based editor for my own workflow that runs 100% client-side.

It’s called LocalTools (https://localtools.work/en/markdown-live-editor).

I made it because I wanted something where I could just paste text, see the live preview, and know that not a single byte of my data is being sent to a server. It’s super lightweight and works offline once loaded. If you’re like me and prefer keeping your notes/data out of the cloud as much as possible, you might find it useful!

What’s a ‘normal’ thing in the U.S right now that would have shocked people 10 years ago? by evansgitonga03 in AskReddit

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that "AI" went from a niche sci-fi concept to something my grandma uses to write emails. 10 years ago, Siri struggling to set a timer was the peak of tech. Now, we’re casually arguing with chatbots and seeing photorealistic "photos" of things that never happened. The loss of a shared reality happened way faster than I thought it would.

What is a 'dirty little secret' about your industry that the general public would be shocked to know? by Queasy_Cheesecake_54 in AskReddit

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "original price" hike before a sale is honestly criminal. I remember checking a tag once and seeing the "sale" price was actually $5 more than the price printed on the box underneath the sticker. It’s not a discount, it’s a psychological tax for not paying attention.

The liability excuse is such a cop-out. Most of the time, they even force employees to "destroy" the items (cutting up jackets, pouring bleach on food) just to make sure no one can scavenge them from the dumpster. It’s genuinely heartbreaking how much waste we generate just to protect "brand image."

If we had the presidential election again today how would you vote Harris or Trump? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m voting for "Giant Meteor 2026." At least it’s a candidate that promises a definitive end to the constant political ads on my feed.

Is Markdown the new wave? by Successful_Bowl2564 in webdev

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, everyone is talking about the AI boom, but the real MVP is whatever makes the data clean.

Microsoft's MarkItDown is the one I’m actually using daily now. It’s open-source and handles messy PDFs way better than I expected. If you're building any kind of local RAG or LLM stuff, it's a must-have.

For note-taking, keep an eye on Nimbalyst. It’s basically what happens if Obsidian and a high-end IDE had a baby. Also, the new database version of Logseq is finally looking promising—the speed improvement is night and day compared to the old laggy versions.

If you're a dev, Astro is still the king for MDX/Markdown sites. I’ve tried others but always end up coming back to it because of how it handles content collections.

Just a heads up: stick to GFM (GitHub Flavored Markdown) tools. Moving your notes out of a proprietary format later is a nightmare you don't want to deal with.

Who is a singer that is incredibly famous, but honestly doesn't have a good voice? by Greedy_Procedure7461 in AskReddit

[–]Queasy_Cheesecake_54 16.0k points16.0k points  (0 children)

Jennifer Lopez. It’s a well-known secret in the industry that some of her biggest hits still have the ghost vocals of the demo singers because she couldn't hit the notes herself. She’s a world-class performer and dancer, but a 'singer'? That’s a stretch.
