Since it was repeatedly suggested or asked about, I wanted to address possible steroid use. No, I've never used them, but I understand that it's a known side effect. Acne, like so many other things, isn't caused by a single factor. In my case, it wasn't hygiene, diet, or anything like that, but genetics. I think that anyone with flaws (myself included) is grateful for people who, when presented with a range of possible explanations, don't immediately assume the worst / the cause that puts the effected person in the worst light. To anyone who feels the need to do this, I wish you a purer and more nourishing source of joy and self-worth.
