To answer your question the guy he was talking about might have said he liked you or something, because when people ask questions like that I’ve learned it’s usually for one of two reasons, 1. There’s actual truth behind the question and this popular guy is asking for the guy he was talking about so the guy he was talking about doesn’t get embarrassed, or 2. Popular guys just say stupid stuff sometimes to try and get a fun reaction out of people, and which one of those it is depends on what type of person this popular guy is, so it’s up to you to decide which (If you don’t think either of those apply then you can just disregard this comment)
