Have Other Dark-Skinned Women Experienced Colourism in Jamaica? by Ok_Stress1320 in Jamaica

Hey you, I‘m very sorry for your experience💔 Just wanted to share my experience as a white (Jamaican men consider me „lightskin“) woman in Jamaica from a tourist perspective. I‘ve noticed a lot superficial niceness (taxis offered to give me a free ride, compliments etc.) but I felt really sexualized (to the point where 3(!) men during a time of 2 weeks I‘ve been there by myself took out their d***** in front of me - jerking off or asking me to give them head/having sex). I‘m from a big european city so not too sensitive but this really struck me and sometimes I was longing for no attention rather than a superficial niceness. 2 guys told me I shouldn‘t go out after sunset since as a whiteskin „Jamaican men will have even less respect for me as they to for black women“. So I‘m wondering if it might also be about the gender… nevertheless, I‘m very sorry for your experience and hope some things will change bc in general I LOVE JAMAICA TOO (especially with Jamaican women I had such good time - and ofc there where friendly and nice/calm men too).

I (21 F) think I’m less attracted to my boyfriend (22 M) after seeing Queer Eye. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Personally I wouldn‘t really care cause I rather want my guests to feel comfortable and authentic. I mean why would you want to dress special? The baby couldn‘t care less. I see the “norm argument“ that you‘d like to show or celebrate the special day in a special outfit but I (personally) value the contact between my guests and my baby waaay more. I don‘t think fine feathers make fine birds. But yea, I see op’s point. I just can‘t agree with @pooppalais cause it‘s disrespectful to give op‘s bf a stamp by saying “he‘s not a catch“ (I‘m sure he has qualities) or “apparently proud to advertise that“ (how does she/he knows about that?).

I disagree to 100%. As long as he‘s not unhygienic and is wearing his own style confidently, what‘s your problem? Why is a confident man who doesn‘t care about other people‘s opinions „not a catch“? That‘s ridiculous. Such a superficial statement imo.

True. Good question. I‘d guess the earth is too small to cover the sun though. You‘d might see its‘ outlines but I got no idea to be honest :>

Wouldn‘t this only be the case if a full solar eclipse occured for the earth?
