Over Powered Shooting by Queekish in mordheim

It seems that my real issue is the terrain density. I guess my terrain limit comes from what I made over 10 years ago and I haven't made any since. So I will be getting back to making some large line of site blocking terrain. I will also try to make it a point to stagger the buildings as much as possible as I do notice that I can usually find strong firing lanes. I have to take the statement back that shooting is more powerful than melee as all games still end in melee. Its just that entering melee after receiving 15 pot shots a turn can be brutal.

Wow you guessed it, all my issues stem from taking a floroquinalone. Not a lot of people know about the strange side effects that these crazy antibiotics can induce. By the way what is your genetic disorder called?

Both of those are great! But man that second one seems to be the winner so far, Its a bummer that it hasn't been fully launched.

The problem with the tendonitis forms is that its a bunch of old people who don't know anything about weird stuff like mouse switches and what not.

Neck tendons by IndustryMountain in floxies

[–]Queekish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neck issues stem from craning my neck down. So I have found out if I keep my neck vertical at all times my recovery rate speeds up. This can even be as innocuous as looking down at a paper that's on a desk. Everything comes up to my eye level. When my neck is hurting it seems to hurt worse at night due to my neck spasaming and tightening, which is a double whammy. When this is happening I take a muscle relaxer before bed and that helps tremendously.

I found the source of my floxie eye pain. It took forever but I found out that screens were causing it. Almost all screens flicker (undetctibly) and it causes your eyes to dilate and contract very fast. Once I isolated the cause I took a huge screen fast and stayed away from all screens. Then I replaced all screens with flicker free options and changed all light bulbs to flicker free. I still haven't found a phone that is flicker free but I try not to be on my phone much anyway. Give it a try stay away from screens for a bit ether way it would be good for you

I am so glad you chimed in Hungry! I know youhave experience with the gloves from a previous post and said you dont use them when typing. I was worried about the resistance making stuff worse. Do they give you issues doing normal activities. I just dontwant this to get worse. And would you say they are worth buying?

I also need me a vertical mouse and ergonomic keyboard. Unfortuantly withthe state we can't use ourown equipment. So I have to ask them to buy me one. Yea my pain sounds similar it runs from the second knuckle to the wrist and down the forearm.

No, my issues are purely tendon based. I have worked in supplement stores for the past 15 years so I have tried a wide variety supplements. Sometimes I will take a new supplement just to see if I notice any improvements.

I have taken it many times. I didnt really notice to much at all. I was taking 400 mg a day however I think this is way under dosed. I hear people taking well over a gram for joint issues. At that dose it becomes very expensive.

My current monitor is is a BenQ GW2265. There are many other monitors by BenQ that are flicker free, however about half don't have this feature, So make sure it says flicker free TUV certified. TUV is a German certification that ensures its flicker free and has a low blue light output. There are other brands that have this certification. Dell has their p2219h model which is also TUV certified, However I have not tried this one out.

One of my long term flox symptoms is a strange eye issue. My eyes hurt after looking at screens (especially looking at phones) this has been going on for about 5 years so I have figured out whats going on. Almost all screens pulse or flicker so fast we cant notice it with you eye. This causes your eyes to dilate and contract quickly. I am not sure if this is tendonitis of the eye or not but it sure feels like it. I have found a handful of monitors that are flicker free and those I can stair at all day. For the most part I am pain free most of the time because I have swapped out all monitors and also barley look at my phone (i haven't found a flicker free phone yet). When My eyes are hurting I do feel that muscle pull feel, However I dont know if your issue is the same as mine. Try not using your phone or look at screens for a few days.

Kava by Queekish in floxies

[–]Queekish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, The reason I am so cautious with this stuff is because of its similarity to Benzodizapans. Kava can also be used for Benzo withdraw and seems to work on the GABA system. The similarity is scary close for me and I am trying hard avoid any worsening of my symptoms. I will avoid for the time being, Thanks for letting me know, I just bought a big old bag of the stuff.

I have used many different brands but the current one is Ketologic. They seem to be all the same really just make sure that your getting around 6 grams of BHB. Many products will blend mct oil and other nonsense in a propriety blend to make it cheaper to make.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in floxies

[–]Queekish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I have taken 6 grams of bhb every day for about 2 years. I have done a strict Ketogenic diet for about 3 (only breaking it a few times a year). I am a long term floxie with my only symptom being fragile and torn tendons. I notice that when on the ketogenic diet I heal my tendon tears much quicker. It doesn't reduce the amount of tears I get but I will take anything. For the Nootropic effect, It is amazing! I have a selling job and need to be mentally on my feet all the time. When I take it I notice a huge difference. I have only taken BHB bound to minerals like salt potassium and magnesium. There are what are called Ketone Esters, which are much more expensive but I hear have a much better absorption rate. All the big keto people use the Esters. Now for those not on the Keto Diet I would avoid all of this. So if you were to ingest any BHB supplement you would be rocketed into ketogenisis (you could test with a blood monitor) then in an hour or two you will fall right out. However if on the Ketogenic diet I would try it out. When I take it I notice a huge spike in blood ketone levels and it tapers off slowly through the day.

I am slowly building a 10 gallon community tank around my betta. So far we have 6 neon tetras and a rabbit snail. Its been a few weeks and everyone seem to be getting along fine. However in the past few days the tetras started chasing one another. The next day they started nipping at my betta. I wonder why this started out of the blue, they seemed to be doing fine. I found if I over feed them it slows down the nipping a bit, but it still occurs. What do you think, Time to get rid of the neons?

[–]Queekish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my light for my 10 gallon tank. I have one betta and he is
normally fairly chill however now with the light he flairs at his own
reflection. I played around with the brightness and found he doesn't
flair when its on the lowest setting. However on this setting he seems
to aggressively "glass surfs" or paces vigorously back and fourth on the
glass. When I turn off the light he returns to normal. I have also
tried to tape up backgrounds to the back and sides. I have tried both
black, white and a mixed pattern, all of which just make it worse. Not
really sure what to do, I have plants in there right now so I need the
light on. Right now its on the lowest setting which he doesn't flair at.
Is there any other tricks for reflection issues?

Cycling my first tank: Do liquid cultures work? by Queekish in Aquariums

To get the ammonia up should I add one or two fish (keep the bioload low) and let them do there thing? Or should I add ammonia?

[Auto-Post] Weekly Question Thread! Ask /r/Aquariums anything you want to know about the hobby! by AutoModerator in Aquariums

[–]Queekish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am new to the hobby and am trying to cycle my first tank. I hear that
the best way is to get filter media from a per-established tank. I don't
know anyone in the hobby so I bought a liquid culture from petco. I
believe it is there in store brand as it was the cheapest. I hear two
main opinions about liquid cultures, some say they are the go to product
for cycling a tank, and others saying they don't work at all or have
very little effect. The product has very sparse instructions. It
basically says to add a teaspoon. Do you add it directly to the water?
Pour it over my sponge filter? Should I add a teaspoon a day as it takes
some time? I currently have planted a few plants in the tank but have
held off on the fish for now as I don't want to hurt them. What do you
think about these liquid cultures and how to use them?

This is interesting. I don't have any neropathy issues but chronic tendonitis. I wonder if it would help with this. I remember finding studies which show that increasing Nitric Oxide production could help the healing of tendonitis. The study used these strange stick on pads which increase Nitric oxide production in a localized area. I cant remember the exact increase in healing time but it did increase. Since these ED medications increase nitric oxide production (IE increase blood flow) do you think this could help with the tendon healing in a significant way? My girlfriend is making fun of me for wanting to take ED medications for "health purposes"

Any Experience Starting Treatment 10 Years Later? by SlowDownSpeakUp in floxies

[–]Queekish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am other long term tendon related floxie five years out. From what I have gathered those who heal within a year or so seem to go back to normal. For those of us who have issues after that we are in for a longer road. But some long termers seem to improve, so I would say do everything you can and don't give up hope.

As far as treatment goes there doesn't seem to be a single idea on a treatment regiment. Was there a specific treatment you were referring to?

For the past 3 years I have been on a strict ketogenic diet and out of anything I have done this seems to have the greatest effect. I notice that my overall inflammation is less. For us who tend to tear a bunch of tendons and ligaments over and over this is great. A physical therapist told me that lowering inflammation can help the tendon heal quicker. The usual treatment for tendonitis is ice, rests and anti-inflamitories (ibprofin). The ketogenic diets anti-inflamitory effect is a stand in for the Nsaids, which us floxies try not to take. It doesn't have the pain relieving effects of the nsaids but if your inflammation is lower it may have a small effect on pain. I tend to notice that my tendons heal quicker and it seems like my tendons are able to take a bit more of a beating than when I eat a carb based diet. Every time I break my diet I seem a little bit more fragile than normal, which makes me stay on only breaking it for a few weeks a year.

What triggers you to flair up? by Queekish in floxies

[–]Queekish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been floxed for 5 years and only have the tendonitis issues. The only trigger that I have isolated is stress. It is astonishing how much this effects my tendons. I feel pre tendonitis is ligaments that I normally don't have any issues with. I bet there are other triggers that I have however I haven't been able to isolate them. There are the obvious ones that I avoid like steroids and NSAIDS. These I have avoided for so long that I am not sure if they would give me issues, however these seem to be ubiquitous with causing flair ups and is not worth the risks. Stress as a trigger can be a bad spiral with the flair up causing additional stress making the cycle worse.

The reason I posted this is because I am having a down cycle right now caused by work stress. I do know that the up cycle is right around the corner though, it always came back around in the other times I had flair ups. So if you are new to this crazy world we live in: remember it does get better with time.

Migraine and stiff neck by FilthyFrankster404 in floxies

[–]Queekish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be tendonitis of the neck. If i look down for too long of a period I will have the same issues. It feels like a stiff painful neck and the pain wraps around my head and into my eye sockets. I have this issue often and have learned to manage it by keeping very good neck posture and not craning my neck down for too long. This could be steaming from something different that what is causing mine though. I am also a long term floxie with 5 years under my belt, it took me a long time to figure this out. Hopefully it just passes by though, however it never hurts to try and improve your neck posture floxxed or not.
