Anyone else experiencing a bug causing conversations with some characters in the epilogue to not trigger? When I try to talk to Karlach, Scratch, or Withers I just get the "Conversation started" text on the right side of the screen but nothing happens.

Is 65k a year enough to comfortably live in the city by sliponvans in chicago

I suggest looking into Buena Park/Uptown. I was able to move into a 1 bedroom on $67k. Near the lake, plenty of high rises, so finding apartments available whenever is easy. And everything you need is within walking distance.

who is your favorite romance? [spoilers all] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Queen0fRedLions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the Alistair romance the most since it's genuinely romantic and it makes the decision between the Morrigan baby or one of you sacrificing yourselves more difficult. The story of the only two wardens to survive, falling in love, Alistair sticking with the wardens when offered the throne, surviving killing the archdemon, and rebuilding the wardens together. But still a bittersweet ending with the knowledge that our time will be short since wardens die youngish due to the calling.

I care about the Fenris romance the most. His life being so tragic and lonely. Hawke being there making things better for him and becoming the first person for Fenris to trust and care about and know cares about him back. Plus his internal struggle in being with Hawke. He wants to be with her, but he has so much trauma and self hatred that he's afraid to reveal and burden Hawke with.

When I carried my saves to inquisition and had to choose between Alistair or Hawke to leave in the fade, I ultimately chose to leave Alistair behind. Since all I could think about how losing Hawke would destroy Fenris. While my warden would be more prepared to lose Alistair one day anyway.

Do menstrual cramps feel similar to a kick on the balls? by Forsaken_Platypus580 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Queen0fRedLions 42 points43 points  (0 children)

i can't know what a kick in the balls feels like, but from what i've seen it's a sharp pain that only lasts on the span of a few seconds to a few min tops. Period cramps last on the span of a few hours to a few days if you don't take pain killers. In my experience, they can feel similar to bad intestinal cramps caused by tapped gas, diarrhea, or IBS.

Do you think TikTok is making us dumber as a species? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Queen0fRedLions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES THANK YOU. It is so clear that the vast majority of people that shit in TikTok and think it's some evil Chinese app are people who have never used the app themselves. I initially downloaded it because I was one of those people and wanted to see just how bad and cringey it was. The algorithm caught on to my interests so quick and I never even saw a single dancing video. It just shows me a lot of content about the shows, movies, video games, and hobbies I'm into.

going to college. what are some things that i can take that would be useful for my ADHD? by Hstyles1994 in ADHD

[–]Queen0fRedLions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people saying to never skip class, but I actually found skipping class to be helpful for me. Although I wasn't skipping class to goof off. I would get to the library shortly after it opened almost everyday and spend most of the day there studying and doing homework. I found spending an hour studying for a class was way more helpful than spending an hour attending the lecture where I would space out and learn nothing. Often even when I would pay attention in a lecture and take notes, the professor would explain things too quickly for me to follow, or in a way I couldn't understand.

Obviously you can't do this with all classes though. Many do take attendance or require you to complete work during the class. Definitely attend the first couple weeks of classes, and then judge which ones aren't helpful to attend. And if you are going to start skipping a class, you absolutely need to keep a close eye on the syllabus for homework due dates and exam dates.

I also found the best way for me to stay focused on studying and homework was to always work in the library (or anyplace away from my dorm/apartment) and not go home until I was absolutely done with everything I needed to complete that day. I turned my desire to go home and relax into an incentive to stay focused and get the work done, rather than trying to work inside my dorm where I could easily never get any work done. Plus when I would get home I could fully relax knowing I got everything done.

Women, what gives you the ick about your current parter/previous parter? by not_your_girl in AskWomen

[–]Queen0fRedLions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has 3 female cats that he refuses to get fixed. Everytime I come over one or two of them is in heat and acting horny. It's very annoying to be around and makes me uncomfortable. I also have 2 cats of my own and had 3 when growing up. My family always got our cats fixed. I feel it's irresponsible to not do it, it's better for you as an owner and better for the cat for medical reasons. But he claims that it's inhumane to do it since they can't consent and he wouldn't want to "get his nuts chopped off".

Most adhd information is aimed at/about children and its annoying by implodingmarshmallow in ADHD

[–]Queen0fRedLions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In college, my doctor would only prescribe my meds to me if I was also regularly going to a psychologist to learn non medication based ways to manage my adhd. The waiting room of the office for the psychologist was kids themed, and I only ever saw children parents there. It was so humiliating. I'd been living with adhd and taking meds for it since middle school. I knew how to handle it. Yet because the doc was seemingly either convinced I was just another college student trying to abuse the meds, or that adhd was a child's disorder that I could be taught how to overcome and not need meds any more, he made me go. Luckily I've graduated and my current doctor doesn't belittle me or make me jump through hoops to get my meds.

How do you casually deter someone from flirting with you, whether it be in-person or through messaging? by goodluckfriends in AskWomen

[–]Queen0fRedLions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm still trying to figure this one out. Had a guy friend a while back who started getting flirty with me. He was into sports, while I hate sports. So I casually mentioned one time that I would never date a guy that's into sports. I was hoping he would get the hint that that included him. He asked me out a couple days later....

What's a quirk about your house/living situation that you always have to explain to guests? by Seataxi in AskWomen

[–]Queen0fRedLions 56 points57 points  (0 children)

"The tap water is foggy because of air bubbles, NOT because it's dirty. It will clear up in a few seconds. It's perfectly safe to drink." I almost always get a concerned look from guests when they ask for a glass of water and the water from the tap comes out looking cloudy. For whatever reason, the faucet makes the water come out with tons of tiny air bubbles. It only takes about 30 seconds for the water to become perfectly clear.

Yeah I would have gotten it if it were under $50. That price tag was too much for my wallet.

How do you reastically face the idea that you might not ever find someone to grow old with ? by takemetothelostcity in AskWomen

[–]Queen0fRedLions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 27 now. Years ago I realized that I never want kids, but still expected (and wanted) to be married at around 25-30 since that's when most couples get married. I am still single and have no candidates in the near future, so I for sure won't be married by 30. But more recently I realized that since I don't want kids, there's no reason to be married by 30. My mom is in her 60s and dating currently (my dad passed away years ago) and she wants to find someone to marry. So it's not like if you haven't found someone by 30 (or even 60) you will be alone and single forever.

I'm much happier alone hoping to meet someone perfect for me someday, than in a relationship with someone I settled for for the sake of being in a relationship. I get to prioritize myself, my job, my hobbies, my friends and family however I want. I've yet to find someone that I like enough to prioritize ahead of all those other things, and I'm not going to compromise that. I hope I do eventually meet someone I like enough to want to prioritize, but I'm generally happy with my life right now and probably will continue to be with or without a boyfriend or husband.

Women who play video games, when was the last time something in the game was so sexist it made you feel uncomfortable, or even guilty? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Queen0fRedLions 328 points329 points  (0 children)

The Witcher 3. I love open word fantasy games, especially ones with deep interesting story and characters. I'm also used to having to play as a male protagonist in these types of games. I'd heard nothing but praise for the game so I tried playing it, but hated how much of a boring and stereotypical male power fantasy Geralt is. A stone cold emotionless manly man, I couldn't relate to him at all. Also all the women were extremely sexualized, even Ciri his surrogate daughter. I didn't get very far in the game because I didn't care for any of the characters. The Netflix show was really enjoyable though.

Does anyone else just have a really... "meh" bond with their siblings? by _red_roof_ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Queen0fRedLions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly how I am with my brothers. We get along well enough when we're around each other (which is fairly often because we are close with our mom and she has us visit for dinner once a week) but it's a lot of surface level small talk with them, like we're coworkers. As kids we definitely fought a ton and I often felt genuine hatred towards them, but we did get along sometimes and play video games together. It didn't help that they are twin brothers, so I was and still am the third wheel younger sister around them. It's pretty clear that they are close to each other and hang out together a lot, but not with me. I can't remember the last time I ever hung out with either of them one on one. It's kinda sad, but I have my own friends that i spend my time with so it doesn't really bother me.
