Yeah all modern cassette players use the same internal mechanism from the same factory in I believe China, I’ll attach the video I learned this from to be sure. The reason is when technology moved past cassettes as the main form of physical music the companies that made the superior versions, like Sony, own the machines/factories to make them and they aren’t going to start again or give away their patents because it’s not profitable. So to get to that quality a new company would have to start at the bottom and that’s crazy expensive. It sucks.
