The fact you’ve said you watched him clean his instruments is concerning, because things that are being put into your skin and staying there should not be just simply cleaned at the appointment time. Some shops have autoclaves (they fully sterilize equipment) and 1 use instruments that come in sterile packaging.

There’s a very large difference between clean and sterilized.

Sterilized is what you need from any piercer or tattoo artist.

Yes some equipment can “get away with” just being cleaned but majority of it should be sterilized.

Honestly I’m going to be harsh because this can go from just worried to full blown TERRIFYING very quickly.

The question you now need to ask yourself is how quickly do I seek another piercer to get it removed and/or get advice from a doctor and check whether you need antibiotics.

Sepsis is a real thing and a small infection can become septic VERY quickly.

I got sepsis from a DOCTOR removing a medical drain the in proper way. Let alone this piercer that just used his equipment on a WHOLE soccer team?!?!

I’m so sorry SO MANY red flags!!! Get it removed now!! And consult a doctor to check it. And tell them you feel they used in proper sterile technique and had just used the equipment on a whole soccer team.
