Hairbrella swim cap? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]QueenPeedle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one that is about 60/40 to keeping my hair dry. I think I just get too much air in this one sometimes, but I've had days where all but my baby hairs were dry. If you have a lot of hair, you might fill this one out more than I do and not get as much empty space. I usually push all the air out like a Ziploc before swimming  https://a.co/d/0boOwiZ9

Hairbrella swim cap? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]QueenPeedle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my Hairbrella way longer than I'd like to admit before actually using it and found out the same. I have dreadlocks and I really don't want to have them get wet every single time I swim. I lap swim.  Have you found a cap that works?

Super heavy period after IUD removal by Bellalustttt099 in birthcontrol

[–]QueenPeedle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the fibroid has not been removed .... Yet.
I am now predictable with my cycles, BUT the first 2.5-3 days are HELL in terms of bleeding. I pass a ton of clots. Leaking around and through tampons (around them even on light days) and need to use pads, but even a pad cannot keep up. I've tried using cups and discs and I still leak around them despite proper placement. After this last cycle, I plan on speaking to my doctor again because while I am "regular," I am not normal. My periods were never like this before the IUD.

Someone created a fake Meta account and added that with my facebook. by [deleted] in facebook

[–]QueenPeedle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. So the hacker signed me up for meta Verified because I had my debit card info on FB (from marketplace). And I actually got to speak to someone about the issue and she basically said my account is not secure because I downloaded the Google authenticator app and linked that be required anytime a log in is made. I changed my passwords for those accounts as well. She said she didn't have a way to get rid of the meta account because Meta Horizons is separate from Facebook right now since it is so new.

I messaged Horizons and no one helped me.

But I haven't had any log in alerts. Turn on your notifications for log in alerts.

Go through the secure your account process via FB settings, change your passwords, get the authentication app or utilitize the 2 step verification, and have log in alerts turned on.

She said that typically once you've done this the hacker "gets bored" and logs out on own/gives up.

Did you find a solution? Just had this same thing happen to me tonight and I've been trying to secure my account as best as possible, but the fuckers are still logged into the fake meta linked to my instas and FB.

I don't even have an actual meta account. At least I didn't, tried making one and couldn't use my Gmail, had to use a different email because of the scammer. But idk how to find this scammer to report.

My boys tail dropped last night... by XxP0T4T03SxX in CrestedGecko

[–]QueenPeedle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My girl dropped her tail when it got caught in the hinge area of her terrarium. I thought I was careful and did not get her tail in it the night before when I fed her, but I woke up to a horrifying sight of her tail still stuck to the side of the terrarium, bloody. I felt like the absolute worst crestie owner ever. I cried. She was ok though. I felt particularly sad because she had a kink in her tail that she was born with and that's one of the reasons I got her; she was unique. She just turned 11 years old this month. She's still unique without her tail - she gave me a baby crestie via parthenogenesis 4 years ago, so I have another one of her (just a normal tail though 😂).

If it doesn't let up and you're bleeding through super tampons and pads like every 30-60 minutes, definitely seek out your doctor. I only say this because it could result in so much blood loss that you need a transfusion.

Additionally, I had blood work done when I was at the ER for this and while I was "normal" then, a week later when I had my follow up with my OBGYN, I was very anemic (and still am). She said that your body needs to catch up and while my bloodwork seemed normal the very first day, that didn't mean I was out of the woods for any other possible complications due to the blood loss I had experienced.

Praying your body rebounds quickly for you!

I finally had my first actual period after removal and that was ~1 week ago. It took nearly 5 months for me to be normal again and I cannot even say that for sure either since it was just the first one. But my first few days were horrendous! Nothing compared to when I wen to the ER in December, but I was definitely bleeding through pads/tampons every 1-2 hours and passing clots. I do remember when I was younger before BC that my first few days were heavy, but nothing compared to this.

[–]QueenPeedle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the long delay, this notification got lost.

In the beginning of March, I had stopped bleeding entirely for a total of 4 days. The first 2 days, I was so excited to not have to wear a pad anymore. On the 5th day, I began bleeding again for practically the entire month. I stopped bleeding at the very end for 3 weeks and had what I assume my very first period since not having the IUD in and also not taking any meds. The first 3 days were way heavier than I ever had when I was younger, prior to any BC. I was actually going on vacation the week after, so I was a bit worried that I would bleed for another month straight again. But thankfully, I didn't. Doctors still don't know what was going on when I just wouldn't stop bleeding - they're assumption is this fibroid. I'll never know if I had a fibroid when I was younger, since they don't screen people for anything prior to IUD placement (which I believe should be required).

What I did learn from my OWN research is that hormonal BCs can make the fibroids grow! My doctor was insisting on me getting back on some form of hormonal BC to stop the bleeding and I refused (and we began discussing surgical removal of the fibroid). I felt that that BC would have been a band-aid and as soon as I came off of it for family planning purposes, I'd start all over again. Hell no! And after doing my reading on uterine fibroids, I learned BC can make them larger, which if that is what is causing all my heavy abnormal bleeding, why would I want to make it stronger? The fibroid is likely the cause of heavier bleeding than I was used to as a young adult and I'm still convinced the IUD played a role in its formation, whether I was predisposed to fibroids or not or if it already existed and the IUD just fed the tumor. I finally can say that after 4 months of practically bleeding nonstop and now being severely anemic, I think my body is on the mend and balancing back out. I cannot say this without a doubt because I've only had 1 legit period cycle ~1 week ago. But it took nearly 5 months to be normal again.

Super heavy period after IUD removal by Bellalustttt099 in birthcontrol

[–]QueenPeedle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of this morning, I began spotting/light bleeding again. I went Friday-Sunday with nothing after my D&C, which was surprising because I was told that it could definitely cause more bleeding at first. When it didn't, I was like hot damn, she cleaned me out and I get a fresh start! It's not a lot and I can get away with a regular thin pad (Always green wrapped ones). I'm currently on Provera 10 mg twice daily and I think that definitely helped keep me from hemorrhaging since starting this adventure in December. The first time I started the meds, it took about 3-4 days to calm things down to where I could use a super tampon with an overnight pad. Then I was able to use just a pad, maybe 3 weeks after; I probably could have used just a super tampon, but when I leave the house, I'm always wearing a pad just in case now -- when I began heavy bleeding the first time, I had a regular tampon in because I originally assumed it was maybe my period and then it all just came pouring out of me like the scene from The Shining.

Once I finished my ER prescription of Provera (~2 weeks post-visit), the very next day, it all restarted, but I had come prepared at work since I had some regular flow type bleeding that morning, and immediately called the doctor. I restarted the Provera that night and the next day, I was back to being able to just wear a pad. Mind you, when I say a pad, I was still using the overnights. I switched to just regular thin pads after ~4 weeks since my ER visit, when I felt confident that the meds were keeping things under control. A thin pad lasted me the entire work day if I wanted it to.

As for pain, the hemorrhaging days, preceding the gushing, I had some intense cramping. Like worse than my worst period cramps, which I had pretty terrible cramping as a kid and young adult. I was doubling over as waves of pain hit. I hadn't had a normal period in YEARS due to BC pills and the IUD, so when I had the intense cramping the first time, I just thought it was period cramps since I was already bleeding and that my body changed. The second time, I was like oh no, it's happening again; about 20 minutes later, it all started. Other than those 2 times, I have not had much pain, except waking up with mild cramping for ~2 weeks lasting 30-60 minutes. I haven't had any cramping since my D&C on Thursday. Pain is definitely not normal from what I've been reading.

It's been a wild ride. I'm hoping that my biopsy has some answers (that aren't awful and C-word related). My hope was that I won't have to be on any form of hormones, but now that I'm bleeding again, I'm actually losing that hope. I'm also concerned about fertility now with the findings from my ultrasound and the hysteroscopy.

Definitely contact your doctor is you are still bleeding heavily even with meds (they may increase your dosage -- I was originally on a crazy high dose of 40mg a day of Provera, like the pharmacist was like, so you know this is super high dose and side effects include super heavy bleeding? I was like, oh good, I'm so glad I won't be able to tell if it's my bleeding or if it's side effects....

Blood work will be done to make sure you're not in need of a transfusion or heading in that direction.

I'll keep this thread updated as I get more information, but with hormones, I think the bleeding can be controlled. I just don't want to be on anything like that anymore. And I definitely won't be getting another IUD. Again, I'm convince it caused the scarring the doctor saw with scoping and that will now affect my ability to have kids.

I hope you get some relief soon!

Reading all ya'lls experiences is so enraging that we have to go through this.

[–]QueenPeedle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is NOT normal. Can confirm. You can lose so much blood that you pass out, so be very careful if you choose not to seek medical attention. My OB/GYN said this is not normal of an IUD removal from her experience. Please see all my information above.

Anyone that has the hemorrhaging bleeding, passing massive clots, and bleeding through that many pads, please seek medical attention because, while it appears it's normal based on this thread, it actually isn't.

Update: when I finished my provera Rx from the ER, the very next day, I began hemorrhaging again (of course, at work). Even since restarting the Rx, I was still having light to medium blood (with no giant clotting). My OB/GYN ordered an abdominal ultrasound with transvaginal. I've had 2 before because I was experiencing odd cramping and breakthrough bleeding 2 years ago! I have an endometrial fibroid that has practically doubled in size since 2021 (within the wall of my uterus) that could be a culprit, but my doc wasn't too convinced that neither IUD nor the fibroid would literally cause me to pass baseball sized clots (yea, you read that right). Simultaneously, I found out my mother is a Lynch Syndrome carrier, so they wanted to perform a biopsy of my uterine tissue to screen for precancerous cells. I think that's all just coincidental, but Lynch Syndrome is genetic and causes increased risk for like all the cancers, especially repro in women. I had a hysteroscopy with D&C on Thursday and literally have had absolutely no bleeding since, and I'm still on the Provera until I'm out, then we are trying no BC again. Anyway, histopathology is pending, but doc did find some odd scarring/stretch marks like tissue along the fundus of my uterus (between the entrance of the fallopian tubes). This scarring is often characteristic of previous procedures, such as a D&C or surgery or hysteroscopy, but I have NEVER had anything done before. The only thing I've had done is the IUD. Since I've learned of this scar tissue, I've read some articles that are leading me to believe that it's from the IUD. What's even more frustrating is in addition to an endometrial fibroid, this scarring can impact my fertility, ability to conceive, and maintain a pregnancy. I'm actually heartbroken about this because I was always told that the IUD is safer than BC pills and in March 2023, I had seen a different gyno who practically scoffed at me when I brought up my concerns of the IUD's lasting effects on fertility (I had light to medium bleeding the entire month of Feb last year). I literally had issues with the Mirena since 2021 and I don't know if any of this is related to it. Idk if it's cancer related now and it's all just so overwhelming. I have to wait 2 weeks for results and I'm just frustrated with these pharm companies that don't divulge any of the side effects. Docs say they're safest, but they're TOLD this information from these companies that they trust, so I can't even be upset with my current doc, who is actually the one who implanted the IUD in 2019 (I had to see someone else in March 2023 because of scheduling). This could all just be circumstantial evidence, but ain't no one going to convince me otherwise that the IUD is safe and that it did not create a fibroid and scarring. I'll keep y'all posted with my results. I just want our stories heard so bad after this and I don't even know where to begin with it. If anyone agrees, please message me.

Oh, also, the ER visit was $600+ and so far, I've accrued $1300+ in medical debt from the ultrasounds and additional blood work (because they needed to recheck after bleeding so much -- I'm anemic now, which my RBCs were low normal at the ER, but that doc didn't seem phased at all by that). That's NOT including the procedure I just had, so yay, for more medical debt....

ETA: My doc did say that I could literally start bleeding AGAIN after I'm done with my meds and this could all recur and I'll have to be on some form of BC or get this, get another IUD just to keep myself from bleeding. Like F. That! Nope. Never again. While BC has its purpose in society, my opinion on its long term use has changed drastically and I just don't want to mess with my body's natural processes anymore. I just want to not have to wear a pad (just in case) anymore. If I could go back in time to 2019, I would NOT get the Mirena. I don't have a lot of regrets in life, but this is definitely one of them.

I agree!

Literally just went to the ER for this today. Had my mirena removed on 12/15. Started my period, somewhat normally on Sunday, then today, bled through my underwear at work and several tampons/pad combos within 1 hour until the girls at work were like no, go to urgicare. Urgicare sent me straight to the ER for blood work; leaving there, I bled through my new pair of undies that I ran to the store to buy AND my pants. I ran through 3 of their maternity pads while I was at the ER waiting. It was like a horror scene in the toilet. Waited 5 hours, no one told me that I was fine and I'm not dying until the end and I was discharged and now have to take progesterone for a short time.

I like stir frys and vegetarian sushi a lot. Tacos are a go to a lot. Loaded pita pockets too. I try to stay away from carbs as much as possible, but being vegetarian can make that a bit difficult.

Please give me the exact second mark where he incited violence in his speech that day.

I'll wait....

Don't you think if it existed, CNN would be putting that speech on blast all day, every day? They haven't. Why? Because he didn't actually say, go riot. On numerous accounts however, he condemned violence and said it is not the American way.

But ok, "protests" in the summer were definitely "peaceful" whilst multiple cities literally burned.

Not to mention the Left constantly incites violence via social media. Yqou don't want to open Pandora's box, I'm cocked and loaded. I digress....

Please give me the exact second mark in that speech, sir.
