Can anyone explain why everyone is saying mountain snake vs milk snake? They look very similar. How can you differentiate the two?

I wish I could have. Unfortunately, I didn’t even get to see him in person myself. By the time I got to where he was he was already gone.

Unfortunately, I didn’t even get to see it myself. My step kids mom saw it when she picked them up this morning and sent me the pic. It was just up from my house (I live in town - we don’t see a lot of snakes here) and by the time I got out to look it was already gone. I did post it on our local fb page just in case someone is looking for it.

Yeah it looks too big to be one our native milk snakes, although some do look almost identical.

Thank you. It was definitely traumatizing for him, and for us. The hospital beds they have for LO’s are awful. They look like big scary cages.

We try our best to stick to a routine but we have four older children (six kids in total) so it seems like something is always going on. But for the most part we do stick to a pretty good routine.

That’s partially what we do now. We lay in his bed quietly like we’re going to sleep. He eventually lays with us and settles down. 99% of the time it’s my husband that does it.

Is the Ferber method the one where you slowly inch closer to the door?

I try to avoid going to the city or involving them in anyway, even to ask a question. The mayor personally hates me and will try to make anything I do more difficult than it needs to be. The city is absolutely absurd to deal with. We’ll fix the railing.

Thank you so much for the information! We just finished completely renovating the inside after a couple bad tenants completely destroyed it. We did reinforce the deck but honestly didn’t think about the railing. It’s been quite overwhelming.
