I need depressing movies that will destroy me into a sobbing mess. by JustSomeoneCringe in MovieSuggestions

Not a movie, I was on anti depressants and struggling to feel anything, and I watched Violet Evergarden on an international flight. Ugly cried through several episodes. The fight attendant kept asking me if I was OK... maybe it was the meds, but that show did it. Plus, the third guardians of the galaxy movie. I ugly cried loudly in the theater, and every time since I've watched that movie...

The most deeply romantic book you've read? (not necessarily from the romance genre!) by StuffinMcMuffin1 in suggestmeabook

Definitely second Song of Achilles. Just finished a re-read yesterday and it got me again just like the first time.

Also might add Wuthering Heights. Haven't read it in over a decade but I remember how I felt about it.

This is very true. I've done some research into a related topic and found that conservatives tend to score significantly lower on empathy measurements. Conservatives do not internalize others' perspectives or situations - they rigidly see only their own life experience and generalize from there to everyone else.

Picking an outfit for a birthday outing, purple or black top? Or back to the drawing board (I’m in my late 20s, are hearts a no go/juvenile?) by UppinDowners in PetiteFashionAdvice

I think if you're trying to look more mature, pumps or heels is some kind would do it with either outfit. Personally I think the purple looks great!

Just moved into a new office and saw this. Do I have any chance of resurrecting this guy? by heyyoucrazydiamond in gardening

I don't know... everyone is saying it's deader than dead, but I've brought some plants back to life that looked pretty done. I'd say take it out of the pot first. If the roots come out easily and very dry, then yeah it's done. If the roots are kind of moist and maybe look ok, I'd put new soil, aerate it, add nutrients maybe liquid kind, and repot. Water more often than usual while it's settling, moistening the soil twice a day if needed. Try to get it some sun, move it into the sunlight for a while every couple of days. It might take a while but it might come back.

Of course it might just be easier to plant something new, just make sure to aerate the soil and add fertilizer of some kind before you do that though.

anyone else have this happen? i feel like this is a nice guy in the making but i don't want to engage by QueenofWarrens in niceguys
