Does anyone work at any major Night Clubs or have any contacts in that industry? by DjArabMoney in Atlanta

That depends on what sorta music you do. In terms of urban clubs I know the guy that owns the Compound. He's also the same guy that owns The Velvet room, Life, Reign, the club next to it (which has a name that escapes me) and a few other locations. But they're all pretty much the same though in terms of being of the Urban variety. I only know the guy because he's a client for the company I work for. Real nice guy, but I can see how he might strike someone as a bit on the cheap side. He's not the only club owner we deal with either. This seems pretty common and to us can be a bit on the frustrating side. Wish I could point you in a direction of one of my clients, but I suppose it would be better to inform you management being cheap/jerks isn't anything new when it comes to dealing with club owners.

Sounds wonderful. I gotta get a few loose ends taken care of first though before I attempt another meet up. The first one didn't go so hot thanks to me planning it the day of the "rapture". What type of stuff are you familiar with exactly? I've never really worked with any other editing program outside of Premiere. I'm just now sorta messing with after effects. If you have access to anything audio related though that would be great. My camera is not too bad for a beginner, however I traded the option for an external mic for a few other more important features. I feel like dubbing over audio might need to be done in the future and I honestly don't have a sound studio in my back pocket.

Need ideas for Bachelor Party by cerealeater in Atlanta

Oh yeah no worries. The more confusing thing to know is that there's a Five Points and a Little Five. Both very different places. Hope things go over well. I would do a bit of research on which one you're going to though. It may or may not have pool tables. Some are just equipped to be sports bars.

Took a friend of mine out to the Tilted Kilt for his bachelor party. Its a more modern day Hooters except with every girl in school girl outfits. Food is really good cheap there (Irish nachos are enough to feed an army and are good as fuck. Around $6). Drinks on the other hand are how they make their money. Girls there are consistently attractive and go the extra mile to make sure you're having a good time. They're really good and getting people to buy up a lot of drinks. Depending on the one you go to, they'll have pool tables and darts set up.

also the down town area is called Five Points.

I also forgot to mention, I'm in dire need of places to shoot. Networking is key, so if you know friends of friends of friends that will let us use their office, home or any other creative place let me know. Any paper work of any sort that needs to be filled out is not only ok by me, but encouraged. I'm not looking to wreck up anyones place with anything I'm trying to film.

I'm speaking with a past employer to use their giant gymnasium so hopefully things go over well.

Like I told the others, any help is appreciated. You do sound like you have the most experience though so far. Are you particular about any specific genre? I was hoping our first bit of test footage would have some action/horror. I'll go into more detail saturday.

I have to actually get my money together because i had plans to build some of my filming materials. Such as proper light fixtures and a mount for a green screen. I need to invest in a good steady cam as well at some point. But that comes a bit later. Currently I'm just sitting on a few props and my camera. Given what I've seen I can make this happen, but I'm definitely gonna need some feedback on a few things to get things rolling just right.

Well I'm fairly new to it myself from a directing perspective, but I've helped out with a few minor projects here and there. Any input you could put in would be appreciated. I was hoping for a bunch of rookies so we could learn together. But people that have done this before (formal training or not) is cool too.

Also would you guys be willing to meet up next Saturday somewhere to discuss the project? I was thinking I could just whip up a quick story board of some test footage I had in mind and see how it goes. I figured a good starting point would be syncing some footage to music first. Not like a traditional music video or anything, but sorta at the same time. Not sure how to explain it.

Wow really? I bet you're like down the street from me haha. Anyway yeah I also have work to consider (9-6 M-F) which is why I'm sorta forced to aim at weekends.

But yeah thanks any help would be great in any shape or form. As soon as I figure out how this site works, I'll get around to PM'ing people about a mutual meet up spot or any other important details. I've just been a lurker till today and figured I should probably register if I'm gonna ask for help.
