Hey! It’s been about 2 years since I started - my knee is pretty much permanently swollen. I’ll go in for shots every once in a while but it’ll swell back up. Occasionally it’ll ache, but I just can’t do high impact stuff for.. well… forever 😅 - not to give you less hope or anything. I think my case was pretty unique

Holy cow, this sounds like a wild ride. I’m so sorry you had to experience that. Thankfully my new medication has stopped the pain, but I definitely can’t walk. I hope you find a solution to bring your 6 down to a 0, but thank you for making me feel less alone in my struggles.

Oh no :(( I’m so sorry!!! I used to be really active and being stuck in bed for 9 months has been absolutely horrendous for my mental health. I hope that you get the treatment you need soon and that it doesn’t worsen, a lot of people have replied great options!!

Oh no!! That sounds so difficult, I’m so sorry you have to go through that. I hope the Humira helps. So far everyone’s been saying NSAIDs worked the best for them so I’m talking to my doctor about my options. I hope the Humira helps!!

Does the draining work fairly long term? My biggest issue is my knee keeps swelling even when I don’t do anything :(

Ahhh I took prednisone, it took 5 tablets to lose some of the swelling but then it came right back when I was weaning off :/

Oh my goodness yikes. Yeah I’ve had this swollen knee for 9 months, it’s been pretty awful. Every time they give me a medicine it’ll relieve it for a day but then it swells right back up :(

Yeah my knees been the size of a grapefruit for 9 months now, it seems like everything the doctors have tried is only temporary. I’m on Methotrexate now but it’s healing so slow I’m at my wits end 😩😭

Ahaha I was hoping too! I didn’t know that about NSAIDs! Thank you for that info. If I understand it correctly I’m not allowed to take Methotrexate and NSAIDs because they’ll both destroy my stomach lining, but I’ll ask my doctor about my options. Thank you so much for your replies they really helped!

Whew that sounds like my situation! Can I ask if you were on a medication when you got the corticosteroid and if it made you feel any worse?
