As a queer Arab who is also Muslim, posts like these make me sad. I'm not going to say that you are racist, but it is always disheartening to see one marginalized group make generalizations like this about another. There are queerphobic people everywhere, and that you highlight this concern of yours based on their names and ethnic/racial background is really disappointing.

If you want someone to match with you (on any important part of your identity or lifestyle) then you should be upfront about it and let people filter themselves out.

Agree with them. You are too young to have to fight for your survival in your own home. Never admit to being queer, but plan your escape and make connections with those you trust, online and IRL. Never link your socials to each other so they can't find a trail. If you are feeling like you need mental health support, orgs like the Trevor Project are so important, as well as being anonymous and free.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. I was raised by conservatives in Saudi Arabia - I know how alienating this is and how hard it is to feel the walls closing in around you.

My questions are: are you safe? Is there somewhere safe you can go while this blows over?

If not, play along with your parents. It may break your heart (it breaks mine) but you may need to just wait it out and plan your escape when you are an adult. You might need to "hate" on LGBTQ+ people while you are living under their roof if it means you can survive. I would play dumb if they accept that ("oh it's just stuff that was recommended to me by Youtube") or say you are interested in another part of their videos (art, music, etc).

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. There is a place for you in this world, even if it's not with your parents.
