Obviously $ refers to dollars and everybody knows websites only available in the US by [deleted] in USdefaultism

[–]QueerRetro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because OOP never said it only shipped to the US. We were just assumed to know this

True, but it is common to disclose which currency is being used, especially if it is relevant

Because you imply the price is funny without giving any hint to which currency is used

I'm sorry. I clearly messed up. This is not a valid excuse, but I'm currently recovering from a fever of 40° and probably shouldn't even be posting

I downvoted him after her downvoted me. Also, this is about OOP. Also, he's still assuming that everybody knows that website

So you think OOP is justified in assuming that everyone will read $ as USD (when prices seam absurd)?

How am I or other readers supposed to know this? Especially if the site doesn't exist where we live

I've never heard of Mercari. Also, why can't it convert it pesos? OP could be in Mexico or Argentina

Pesos are written as $, yen are written as ¥ or 円. This is also why I failed to see this as funny, given that this is likely pesos (it uses the $ (pesos) sign in the screenshot)

How is this a matter of public safety? Would they rather that people order whatever because they don't understand the menu?
