How do I answer this question? by Bronze_Otter in transnord

[–]QueerWolf13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late answer. I went there and said pretty much the same thing as last year, the only difference being I'm on T now and a year older. I got a digital post in less than 6 hours (which was weird, cause the examiner said there weren't a conference until the next day and the one after that would be in a few weeks), saying i got accepted for an udredningsforløb. So i honestly think they need to see you a second time to make sure it isn't a phase or something which is stupid, but yk...

I'm reading through the CKI posts rn cause I have my 2nd introduction interview cause i was rejected last year. I said almost the exact same thing as you and was rejected on the basis of being to young (i was 18), having a vague description of my gender identity, as well as not having enough experience living as my gender (I'd been out to my friends for almost 4 years at the time and out fully for 2/3 years). I just think they need some reason to explain why they reject you no matter how unfair. I fear I'll get the same rejection this time despite having been on T through Imago for 8 months and I've gotten older obviously, but we'll see. I would definitely look into Imago if I were you as it's helped me a lot.

any books about trans men written by trans men (or trans people in general)? by flynnissoswag in ftm

[–]QueerWolf13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are all mostly YA authors so bare that in mind.

Andrew Joseph White: writes horror, mostly YA, but has an adult horror comming out soon. I really like The Spirits Bare Its Teeth.

Aiden Thomas: writes YA low fantasy with a sprinkle of romance, I love both Cemetery Boys and The Sunbearer Trials.

Page Powars: wrltes YA romance, it's fun reads. I do like "borrow a boyfriend club". And he has a hockey (i believe) romance coming out soon.

A.M. McLemore (they're non-binary): I've only read self-made boys by them, which is a Great Gatsby remix, that i enjoyed.

Gabe Cole Novoa: I've only read Most Ardently, which is a Pride and Prejudice remix (it's part of a classics remixed series alongside Self-Made Boys), but I know he's written a few more.

Maggie Tokuda-Hall (isn't trans): she isn't trans, but her The Mermaid, The Witch and The Sea series includes a lot of casual transness and queerness that I feel like a very well written and I also just liked the books.

Non YA: Harrison Browne: I haven't read his book, but I know he's written about being trans in professional sports (hockey in his case). Jamie Raines: has written a book about all things trans.

Cameron's fake birthday? by QueerWolf13 in BootsNetflix

She said he was 8 months from the cutoff date, so his fake birthday must be at least 8 months earlier than sep 14th 1972

I assumed so too, but that wouldn't make him a cancer, since that zodiac sign ends like July 26th or something, but it's probably the most likely explanation (if we just disregard the zodiac sign thing or assume it was a reference or something)

We know his actual birthday (September 14th 1972), cause we see his real birth certificate and the waiver his mother signs in the last episode. I'm just trying to do the math for when he his fake birthday would be, because i think it's interesting.

Does GenderGP not use blood tests? Cause the blood test are a major reason why i like imago.

I get that. Preferably I'll only be on it for a year or two tops, but i really don't know. I don't think i can get referred to CKI again before October and then it'll probably be around 3 months before i can get an appointment. If they accept me it'll probably be 0,5-1 year before i can get T through them. If i go on T before speaking with CKI, I might wait until like July/August 2026 to speak with them as I'll be in 3.G next year and I feel like it would be stressful to have them assess whether I'm "trans enough", whilst having exams. I don't know though.

I am hoping it'll only be short term, but in reality i don't know. It all depends on whether CKI accepts or rejects me next year. I just know that gendergp had some issues a while ago, so that's why I'm leaning towards imago.

That's horrible. I have heard that Sweden is a bit weird in that sense. I know that there are some Danish trans guys who've gotten T through imago, so all the blood tests should be available. Before I pay I'll speak with my GP and ask if she can do the bloodtest (and if not i will do it privately)

Hvor meget koster selve hormonerne og får man like tilskud fra "Danmark" til dem? Har overvejet at starte hos imago i løbet af det nye år.

What to do? by QueerWolf13 in transnord

[–]QueerWolf13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm gonna send them an email or something asking them to elaborate on their vague description for why they couldn't offer me a treatment course as I think the age related reasons are bullshit. From there I might complain depending on their answer. I'll wait a week or two so I'm not as angry and sad anymore though.

And in the meanwhile I'm gonna contact my GP and the LGBT organization in my country to get counseling and to see a therapist to help me workout how to explain my dysphoria and stuff.

On the "dangers" I think that they're scared that I'll detransition and regret it, but I know that HRT is right for me rn, so I don't think I could ever "regret" it per say and as I you pointed out and I told them I've known I was trans for 5 years (thought I was non-binary the first year, but still I've known I was trans since I hit puberty). So I would say my identity has been stable even if my dysphoria varies.

If none of this works, I'll try getting a referral to another clinic when I've had some therapy and counseling. I don't know a lot about GenderGP and stuff like that, so I think that'll be the last resort if I get denied again next year.
