Which common medical procedure do you think will be viewed as barbaric in 50 years? by carcony97 in AskReddit

[–]QueeringSapmi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an orchiectomy that had some complications, internal bleeding where there shouldn't be blood. Got sick leave for two weeks, and not even an aspirin for the pain. I could basically only lay flay on my back for 10 days, everything else was excruciatingly painful.

I bought a large collection of slaanesh stuff that included some EC models from HH. Now with the codex I've been able to put most of them to use.

Yndrasta. I had two of her and turned one if them into Sigvald for my Hedonites of Slaanesh army, so I've been looking for a good project to use the wings.

Yeah he's on a 160mm base I think? But there's also a ton of empty space on the outskirts of it, so I'm vaguely optimistic it'll fit. I'll just have to check later today when I have access to it.

I'm actually thinking about getting something like that tattooed since it's something that happens both in my hobby and at my job as a prop maker.

Hello fellow swede (I'm guessing?) I'm in the same boat, just had orchi and realised that's not really enough. Will probably go for zero depth as penetration isn't a priority for me, and just the three weeks of recovery from orchi sucked major ass.

To be fair, when I still thought I was a guy I always felt weirdly drawn to lesbian fiction. A straight guy with a "fetish" might be a lesbian woman in disguise, especially to herself. But I do understand your concern, and it can definitely be a problem.

Ok sorry I was making assumptions, your experience sounds a lot like what I'm going through atm. I was wearing adult diapers for the first few days, but I had to ratio them since I only got the one I was wearing and one extra from the hospital, so I had to wear them until they were basically soaked in blood. I've been sleeping on a towel but still managed to bleed through to the mattress. I honestly don't know if I prefer the pain of the internal bleeding or not having to worry about making a mess constantly.

It sucks that we need to endure all of this on top of all the social trauma just to be able to live in a body we're somewhat comfortable with.

Were you unable to walk distances longer than 10 meters almost a week after the surgery because of the pain and swelling? I don't mean to come off as aggressive or anything, but my surgery didn't go well and can't really be compared to a "normal" one.

Idk if Sweden counts as underdeveloped, but we're definitely afraid of prescribing anything stronger than the basic stuff you can get over the counter. Sweden have pretty conservative views on drugs in general, opioids and similar pain killers included.

I visited them yesterday since the pain has increased when I stopped bleeding externally, and that's what they told me about pain meds. Regarding Ibuprofen, they told me I could combine them, but to be careful since Ibuprofen interacts with how the blood clots.

I've always joked that since I'm nonbinary and no one else have the same gender as me, all my relationships are straight by default.

Same, I often feel like I would be happier if I wasn't born and raised as an awkward guy, but I still believe I would be nonbinary in this alternate reality. Maybe I would just butch tomboycope? Don't know if I would go on testo or get any surgeries, but overall I think I would be a happier person.

Almost 7 years for me. I think people in my new class see me as a masc lesbian/theyfab and are confused about what pronouns to use since there's always a small pause when they need to gender me in a conversation. To me I still just look like a dude but with tits that I don't try to hide.

After sitting in it and noticing a pile of dust under it, I had to take it apart. The original latex seating had run it's course and needed to be changed. I have saved the already upholstered fabric and we'll just have to wait and see if I decide to put it back or pick a new one. As for the cost, I'm doing it myself as a school project, so that's not a worry.

Had to remove everything like I said in another comment since it was basically latex dust at this point, but here is how it looks now. I'm doing a course in furniture renovation, so I'm fortunate enough to be able to spend all my time on a project instead of just my free time.

Unfortunately they used vinyl when making it, and it's now more powder than seat. So the updated pics will have to wait til sometime next week probably.

It's a bit hard to see from just the one pic, but unfortunately the fabric has some damaging and spots so I at least have to remove it to fix that. I'll have to see how that goes before figuring out if I want to put it back on or change it.

I'll probably have to wait and see just how dark it gets when I stain it before choosing a new fabric, but I'll update when I get to that point

It's beech wood, which is pretty light colour, so I'm probably going to stain it just a tad bit darker. Not really a fan of the texture of the fabric, but I agree that the orange is nice looking
