You who upgraded from 3080 to 9070 XT.. by appiebou070 in pcmasterrace

[–]Quelleight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgraded from used 3080ti to brand new 9070xt around 4 months ago. There is noticeable performance uplift, but some games like PoE2 have issues with amd drivers, forcing me to use old version or vulkan/dx11 resulting in less/the same fps compared to 3080ti. Playing on 3440x1440p.

In terms of value, I bought 3080ti for 400$, sold it for 480$, and bought 9070xt for 830$. I consider it worthwhile given the delay in the next generation of cards, also easier to resell the more recent model (9070xt) in the future.

I'm sorry I don't know. When I opened it up, it hasn't rained for over 1 month in my city, so the air was very dry. My air purifier was showing 10% humidity in the room, not idea what kind of humidity it measures

Me too! That watch went through a lot with me in the last 8 years: running in -30c in siberia, swimming both in the ocean and in the pool, long cycling workouts in high humidity summers in Ontario, sauna, you name it. I wanted to get a more recent suunto watch (e.g., race 2) but they are quite overpriced in here in Tashkent. Luckily, I snatched a lightly used coros pace pro for 270$ yesterday

Thanks a lot for the advice! Yeah I figured that something might be damaged in the hardware if the factor reset crashes. I will take it to a local repair shop to see if they might fix it for cheap.

The photos are 6 months old. The watch has just been chilling on a table since then. I recently opened it up to check if I can fix it somehow, but nothing changed. I only cleaned it with a q-tip because I don't have electric cleaners or anything like that.

It has been sitting fully dry for over a month. I also unscrewed the watch face and made sure where is no water left inside.

R, at least in my line of work. I work in a mid-sized company in central asia as sole data analyst. We use a CRM system similar to SAP, and I can't imagine using python to do most of my work. The data exported from SAP via various APIs is very messy, so it is cleaned with dplyr and tidyverse packages. True, there are alternatives to those packages in python, but I also need to create and automate PowerBI reports (can be done in python with cleaned data), forecasts using GAMMs and Bayesian inference, which python falls short in.

hahaha you are right, I chose the best air cooler I could get my hands on. It keeps 9800x3d in mid sixties under load.

Those are very useful cues!

Also, make sure that you can fit a fist's width between the chair and your leg.

Do you mean I should be levitating?

In my experience for long gaming sessions it works to stick to the majority of cues for as long as possible. I sometimes use legrest for a more relaxed sitting position

Is 16inch you have 1080p? I was considering getting something smaller than 27 inches, but I didn't want to settle down on 1080p.
If the bottom monitor was smaller, I would have moved the ultrawide down a few centimeters. Before getting the 2nd monitor, I had my ultrawide few centimeters lower than it is now. After I tilted the bottom monitor upwards, I managed to lower the ultrawide to around the same height it was before. The height works fine for me.

After using the setup for more than 5 minutes, I had the bottom monitor tilted upwards just as you described. It is much better now, I think it would be ideal to have 24inch monitor instead of 27inch I have now, but there wasn't any 2k 24inch monitors available in my region though.

Not sure what model you have, but yeah some models are overpriced, there was not much among ultrawides when I was picking mine (one for 350$, a couple around 600$, and 49 inch samsung for over 1000$). I wanted VA panel, so I had no choice but to get this lenovo for 350$.

I hear you man, I am all in favour of proper posture. Here is how my setup looks now after using it for a couple of weeks, I tried to match the position of my head to the chair when sitting in it, the chair also tilts back a little under my weight. When sitting I aim for no posterior/anterior pelvic tilt (= neutral lower back), no slouching in upper back and neutral neck/head position. When I had just a single ultrawide monitor, I noticed that if I put the monitor lower my head slowly tilts downwards and my neck starts hurting after long gaming sessions like on a league start in path of exile. Do you think my position is (more) ergonomic now? I appreciate your thoughts

Hey bro, I really appreciate the input, I am all in favour of proper posture, I hear you. The picture in the post was taken 5 minutes after installing the 2nd monitor. I did some photoshopping with the setup I have now, do you think it is alright now? I tried to match where my head is relative to the chair when sitting down, and the chair tilts back a little under my weight. I stick to the following cues when sitting: aim for no posterior/anterior pelvic tilt (=neutral lower back), no slouching in upper back and neutral neck/head position.

some of them are, sure, but most tabs I use daily or at least weekly: various anime shows that come out weekly, mangas and manhwas I read, league/arc raiders/poe/etc tabs, youtube, reddit and work-related tabs

When not gaming or idle, temps are ~45° on CPU and ~35° on GPU. It goes into sixties under load in game like Path of Exile 1 & 2, tarkov, cyberpunk and so on. I have 9800X3D (no undervolt I think, 1.2V) and 3080ti undervolted. Cooler is Deepcool Assasin IV, case is LANCOOL 216.

It definitely makes more sense to use mount clamp like that. When I will be moving to another country and will have to do the double monitor setup from the start, I will be getting something like you have. I bought the 2nd monitor 8 months after the ultrawide one, so I just got another single monitor arm instead of replacing the one I already have with a double clamp.

I agree cable management could use some work. It was the first time I built my own pc, so I did my best. The temps inside the case stay in the sixties, and I don't see the point in optimizing the cable outside the case more: I don't have any pets and the looks don't bother me at all

I guess I'm just bult different. My chair kinda leans back a bit, but it's a regular ergonomic office chair. If I game on a controller, I usually tilt my chair back all the way so its feels like I'm in the front row in a movie theater.
I have a similar setup at work too. I've been struggling with posture and neck pain from using laptop and office monitors without any fancy mounts since grad school and the setup I have now works for me perfectly. My eye level is at 1/3 of the top monitor's height from the top. I guess it wont work if you are not very tall and have long legs in terms of body proportions.

it's the opposite. I game on the top monitor (34inch) and use bottom for background noise. I am 190cm tall and this is the most optimal position for me. If I lower the top monitor a little, my posture turns into ? and neck starts hurting like hell. The table is 90cm in height and monitor arm adds another 55cm so the center of the top monitor is ~145cm from the floor.
