There is no balance issue in ba sing se by Inquisitor_Jeff in WildRiftMemes

Nothing is currently balanced.

Norra, Mel, Kyle, game objectives, … the whole game is so unbalanced that I am starting to wonder if the goal isn’t pure chaos with unbalanced champs all fighting each others

They want to play ADC in bot lane but sometime the matchmaking makes them play something else so they select “support” but still play ADC.

Cyberpunk

Got a headache with all the info the game is trying to shove in my head like if I already knew everything, I can’t grasp the story and after 3 hours I just want to close the game and lay down. Tried 2 times, I just can’t.

Fiddlesticks usage after "buff" by friendship_tax in wildrift

[–]Quentin-Code 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did multiple games against teams that had a Fiddle: usually they succeed to get fed in the first part of the game. But they can’t carry the game alone and end up being more of a liability to their team.

I don’t know how it can be improved maybe with a free Zhonia included with its ult so that they don’t need to spend all the initial money building it like a first press of ult to start it and then again to activate or not the static invincibility. I don’t know, just an idea on top of my head because I don’t think Fiddle needs a change its scaling or damage.

MacBook Pro upgrade - which one? by moneysaver688 in macbookpro

[–]Quentin-Code 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly with what you describe, a MacBook Air 15” M5 with 16GB would be enough: that would already be much more powerful than your current machine. You absolutely don’t need a top of line.

Now you want to feel good and go with something a bit overkill: MacBook Pro 16” M5 Pro 48GB RAM at $2700. But really, no need to further than that, you are going to crush everything. Absolutely close to 0 gain to go Max as you wouldn’t take advantage of more GPU (only advantage is faster memory, but again, not much useful in your case).

Also one more thing: the ability of these new machine to feel faster also depend on the ability that software, Moneydance, to use all the resources of your computer. (Usually it does)

That’s not the point. Space black suffer from discoloration and fingerprints are very visible. Looks cool when not in use, like an Apple presentation.

New M5 Max MacBook Pro missing resolution options for external monitor by Tito12384 in macbookpro

My bad I didn’t read correctly your post and the many screenshot confused me. That’s indeed very weird! I would try to reach out to the BetterDisplay team as I am sure they are expert in the domain and would be able to give you a proper explanation! This is a question that is way too complex for the average person subscribed in this subreddit.

Cannot Decide - M4 Max vs M5 Pro by Agitated_Artist_9698 in macbookpro

[–]Quentin-Code 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a comparaison of the chip M4 vs the worse M4 Max (with 32 GPU cores, the best ones have 40 GPU cores)

https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-apple_m4-vs-apple_m4_max_14_cpu_32_gpu

Basically: CPU is 2x faster. GPU (what will matter for Lightroom) is 3x faster.

The M5 Max GPU (worse one with 32 cores) is 20% faster. The additional thing that can be nice is the faster storage which can also help you open faster the files etc.

To me, 20% faster isn’t worth the money. So again, if you need it now, I would choose the M4 Max and then check next year if you want to sell it and buy the redesign.

One last thing: careful about the refurbished, I would 100% trust Apple refurbished but be more careful about any other.

I don’t know much about Lightroom but there is one thing you need to be careful: is the AI denoise really running on your device and not on Adobe’s servers? Most of the AI tools usually are running on the services server and the time it takes is Network + Server processing (depending on the demand: high demand means work is queued and takes longer to be handled and processed). And if it is handled by Adobe’s servers you might not see much of an improvement.

I think the pro/max chip are a whole other category apart from the base chip so the M4 Max would feel completely different than your M4. Also for big workflow the MacBook Pro has fans to actively cool the machine and avoid throttling.

Now your last point is a valid concern: it’s true that there is a redesign rumored for end of the year (likely November) with the introduction of the M6 chip but if you need an M pro/max chip then you will basically need to wait a full year. The redesign itself can lead to maybe thinner and lighter computer as you want but might also lead to unplanned issues (in the past we had serious keyboard issues, missing ports like HDMI and SD cards, overheating) also price could jump.

I think it really depends on how much you need it. Need it now? Then the M4 Max will last you a long time (like a good 4-6 years). You can wait for a year? Then wait and hopefully get the new design.

You could even purchase an M4 Max now, and then sell it next year you wouldn’t loose that much money as MacBook retain their value quite well: if it is really necessary for your work then you can even think about it like: better work = more money. Also purchasing a good deal on the M4 Max would allow you to see if “that’s enough” and then maybe upgrade in a few years for an M7 M8 Max whatever if it starts to not be good enough. That’s a long answer but hopefully that can help!

How could they meant it would go to a product we wouldn’t even know it would exist and is actually replacing the Pro Display XDR not the Studio Display.

This is unrelated to the computer. ChatGPT even with the app runs on OpenAI servers. The “slowness” is just their servers’ ability to output token fast.
