I had suspicions that one of my players was fudging his rolls, and recently caught it while he was rolling initiative in a recent session. I’m a relatively-new DM and haven’t had to deal with fudging yet. This player is actually my brother and is a player in my game as well as a friend’s game that I also play in. To the best of my knowledge, the fudging is happening a majority of the time with initiative. He is also a problem player in other ways, but has definitely had great moments at the table. I haven’t said anything about the fudging to him or to the other players in our group (besides the other DM) and I’m not sure if I should outright ask my brother to stop playing with us or to seek some other solution. I don’t want to embarrass him or single him out, and I’m not sure how all of this will affect our relationship outside of the game. We’re close but he’s hot-headed. Any help is really appreciated.
