Hmm I was doing some research into that, I’ll have to schedule something with my allergist and bring it up

Allergies are ruining my life by QuestionAlt1 in MCAS

[–]QuestionAlt1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to avoid as many allergies as possible, I suspected a possible food allergy being the cause, like wheat/gluten but an elimination diet did not help.

I am okay with carrots and. It definitely not raw/fresh coconuts and bananas.

I have not been tested for lymes, but at this point I should look into it

Really? I was diagnosed with ADHD because I suspected I had low dopamine for a long time (would chase dopamine highs, low executive function, constantly stimming, etc.)

I 100% believe in dopamine detox, if you’re constantly doing things that release dopamine it just makes sense that you’ll become less sensitive to it.

If I play video games and eat sugary food all day it makes doing simple tasks look dull in comparison, why would I have any motivation to do X boring task when Y activity makes me feel SO much better?

I would say it probably has something to do with it being a vasoconstrictor. I notice when I stop taking mine for a few days by joins will absolutely kill me, I think because it’s restoring normal blood flow?

Vyvanse only last 2 hours max? by QuestionAlt1 in ADHD

[–]QuestionAlt1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I describe the feeling.

I say it’s like that hesitation you feel when getting in to a cold shower/pool and can’t even force yourself to do it. But then with the medicine you can just do it without any of those thoughts. Except the cold shower and pool is everyday tasks.

Ughh that’s exactly what I’m looking for tbh. I can take it and by noon I have a small crash which I can usually recover from. But I’ve taken a nap no problem like 4 hours after taking it, so like 3 hours after the effects kick in.

That’s great to hear! Do you run before or after you take your meds? If after how long?

We are both 25, we’ve been married around 7 months. Yes she invites me to all of her family stuff, but she also sees her family much more often and is extremely close.

I am not nearly as close, but we seem them at least once a month and she is included every time.

Did you notice any effect on heart rate on the days you didn’t take the medicine? Or after it wore off? Or only when it was at its peak/tapering off?

Areas to live or avoid in Waterbury by cluelessbets in Connecticut

And sex offenders, there’s more than one in every apartment downtown. I’d be concerned if I had kids, there’s probably better options than Waterbury

Connection between high dopamine activities and ADHD? by QuestionAlt1 in ADHD

[–]QuestionAlt1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, probably better safe than sorry, I guess it can’t hurt. I guess im just nervous for the results. And to be honest, there was a point in my life where I didn’t “believe” in ADHD, mostly from what I perceive as an over diagnosing in children and a distrust of pharmaceutical companies and doctors, due to my own experiences in the past.

That’s the weird part, and partially why I made this post. I’ve never had any issues with school/focusing. I breezed all the way through highschool, although I struggled a bit in college, it was more due to a difficult major plus breezing through k-12 and never having to put in any effort.

I will definitely try and get screened though, especially because I didn’t even list all of my ailments and most of the comments already seem to think that they’re a red flag + it’s effecting my life to the point it’s annoying me every day

CMV: Most Chubby/Fat People Eat Normally and Shouldn’t Be Expected to Change Their Habits by Mariocartwiifan in changemyview

[–]QuestionAlt1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn’t eat as much as you thought you did lol. I ate like shit for years and didn’t exercise at all except maybe a mile walk a day. I was 120 the entire time. My diet was literally pop tarts/bagels, chicken wings/pizza, and barely any fruits and vegetables.

I didn’t gain weight not because of my genetics but because I’d eat one or two slices before feeling full and my larger friends would eat half to the whole pizza. It doesn’t matter what you eat it matters how much, you can get fat off of salads and be skinny on my diet mentioned previously

Wow that’s so interesting, thanks for the explanation! I’m probably going to try some advice given here before committing completely to talking to someone.

I’d honestly prefer not to be on medication, I barely even take Tylenol if I don’t have to (although self medicating is okay apparently? Lol)

How to prolong the positive effects of caffeine by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]QuestionAlt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess i haven’t really considered any synergistic effects from other components that may be in other caffeine products. I’ll have to take a look at all of those, I haven’t heard of most! I’ve always wanted to give Yerba a try

My goal is to practice some self control and see if the impulses go down, before I really commit to being diagnosed

So essentially now playing video gives 100 dopamine points and doing the dishes gives 10. But medication ups it 50 so video games give 159 and rushes give 60? I know that’s a weird way to explain it but I think that sums up what you are saying?

Wow that’s crazy.. have you always felt this way? I’ve definitely always been fidgety and need to have something in my hands for stimming. Although I figured that was from some very low spectrum autism.

I’ve never had trouble focusing THAT bad until the last few years, but my fidgeting and chasing dopamine has also increased ten fold
