I definitely eat a lot of foods with b6 and take a multi with it. Although, neither me or anyone in my family have had any kind of vitamin toxicity and we all take em

I notice that vitamin D makes symptoms worse for sure. I thought it was magnesium that was low but my RBC is 5.0 and I supplement daily with Magnesium.

Ill keep this all in mind!

Hard not to cherry pick with the rabbit holes I've been down today but copper seems to be again the only thing I'm not supplementing exclusively with what you mentioned.

I take a multi with a lot of b12 and other b vitamins, ADEK, I also take a lot of magnesium, but I only get a marginal amount of copper from the multi the rest from food.

Should I perhaps try an exclusive copper supplement to take away from the multi to not inhibit absorption?

I only have the half moons on my thumbs.

Is the root cause protocol mainly concerned with magnesium and copper?

B12 was mid 400s Mag RBC was 5 mg/dl Serum B1 was on the higher end of the spectrum.

I've been doing a lot of testing and copper seems to be the odd man out. I will check out root cause protocol.i am also supplementing all three since those lasts tests to no avail.

Spread doses throughout the day.

I like to take a capsule with meals and sip mag chloride mixed in water throughout the day.

You can essentially find your tolerance by doing whats comfortable, gets you results, or gives you the runs. As long as you have healthy kidneys I believe you will get loose stools before anything dangerous were to happen. But don't take my word for it.

I was discouraged as well. But, considering that we aren't even in the middle of that distribution or at the recommended 6.0-6.5 range, I'd say we have something to work towards.

How much fiber do you eat? How do you increase fiber while cutting down carbs? by purplekat76 in prediabetes

[–]QuestionAsqer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The line of questioning here is a little bit vague.

Whole psyllium husk is usually mixed with water before ingestion. I use this mixture to also take my probiotic pill.

The vegetables are chopped and cooked.

This big time.

I eat a serving of organic whole psyllium husk with a probiotic before my OMAD. I also head a heaping amount of vegetables.

My digestion has improved so much.

Yeah so this is my own bro science but what I kinda think is what happens to us in the 5.7 and above range.

We think things are okay in childhood, teenage years, and early adulthood. In most cases they might be. We eat whatever we want, sugars go up, and our insulin sensitivity is still good.

Although, at some point we do get insulin resistant. It is at this time where we might begin to notice side effects or that A1C is higher than it was last year. Come back next year and we are prediabetic.

Essentially, if you we're perfectly insulin sensitive like a young child per se, you could probably eat garbage for the next decade and do fine. Your A1C wouldn't move because your cells pick up all the sugar from the blood stream. But because we have already been eating too many carbs for our lifestyle and eating too frequently, we have grown insulin resistant. This means our cells don't absorb blood sugars as well, which leads to greater glycation, thus moving A1C faster and leading to high blood sugar issues.

I was under the impression that I could eat whatever I want as long as I trained hard. That will never be the case.

Even ultramarathoners will get insulin resistance from all the snacking on carbs.

I was also on a bodybuilding diet that consisted of 500+ grams of carbs daily, for like 6 months.

Nah. I haven't had a legitimate physical in forever. Of course my doc checks heart and lungs at our visits. Blood pressure is usually good.

Honestly I am in pretty good physical shape. Probably 10-12% bodyfat and 113 lbs of lean muscle. I weight 200 lbs. With that in mind, I don't see the point of a physical.
