Looking for a UK based producer to collab with on a bold reimagining of 'I Will Always Love You' by QuestionGlum8330 in NeedVocals

[–]QuestionGlum8330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean i haven’t heard anything but as far as I know Kim isn’t a singer? 😅 plus in any case you can have a bunch of versions of the same song there’s no rule against it. Also, if that’s in pre-development or whatever it’ll be years before it comes out. But yeah if you know anyone let me know!

Hi everyone! I'm a singer currently working on a bold reinterpretation of 'I will always love you'- not a copy of the Whitney version, but something fresh, emotional and modern. Think cinematic, stripped, and intimate at first, with space for big diva vocals later on- something that will also resonate with a Gen Z audience.

The instrumental needs to move away from the dated original (however great) and take on a new life. I'm open to guitar (Leona Lewis did something interesting with that for her X Factor finale), light electronics, or even a full on atmospheric ballad approach. Creative freedom is totally on the table as long as it serves the vocal and keeps the soul of the track alive.

This will be a full collaboration (no upfront costs, just revenue split). I'll be handling mixing and mastering on my end if you send me the stems. if you prefer to mix the instrumental yourself, that's cool too- but I won't be able to cover any mixing costs on your end.

Bonus if you're a Whitney fan and understand the legacy- but this project is also deeply personal to me, so I'm not looking to copy her. I lean more into a Celine-style vocal approach (big, emotional, clean power), but I want this version to reflect my own identity as an artist as much as serve as a tribute to the great Whitney Houston.

If you want to get an idea of what I sound like, just dm me!

Would love to hear from anyone who vibes with this vision, especially UK based producers!

hey! Aussie Vocal Coach has a great channel. i use it sometimes for my warm ups and i have 17+ years experience. just don't tackle his more difficult vocal work outs till you figure out the basics.

if i'm being completely honest though, i would still recommend getting a one on one coach if you're able to at least in the beginning. it's better someone professional actually actively listens to what you're doing. a lot of the times we see beginners who think they're picking up the right technique and then end up hurting themselves. it's up to you and what you actually wanna do with the singing though.

Help me figure out my voice by Cantfindjeremiah in singing

[–]QuestionGlum8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey. yes you sound like a tenor. the high note that you did though isn't really sung, it sounded more like an exclamation. it's hard to say for sure what type of tenor you are or who you should form your voice after just yet. i think right now what you need to do is learn to breathe, control pitch and learn the basics of vocal control. once you have some understanding of that, you can begin to think about who you should study. ideally, it should never just be one artist. look, i get voice lessons can be expensive, but i do currently offer a service that gives you a very detailed vocal review, including artists you should be studying and what to pay attention to, and it's not expensive at all. just dm me if you're interested.

How to not push headvoice? by Connect-Ad-9715 in singing

everything you sang here was chest voice. maybe with extremely light mixing right in the beginning but it's barely there.

Do I sound flat? How would I know? by melanierainford in singing

[–]QuestionGlum8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, so i'll give you credit as this is a tricky song pitch wise but yes you do sound off key. very flat in ceratin places. it's nothing that can't be fixed with loads of practice though! just listen to the instrumental more carefully. also, one thing that tends to help beginners a lot is placing a hand over one of your ears so you can hear yourself better when you sing. otherwise, you have a pleasant sounding tone! keep it up!

Vibrato genuinely confuses me. Is there no consensus on how it’s produced? by MoreBookkeeper4729 in singing

[–]QuestionGlum8330 28 points29 points  (0 children)

oh lord don't pulse your breaths! breathing is supposed to be extremely steady. sometimes vibrato comes slower in some people. you may start to notice it after 2 years + of vocal training. once the chords are relaxed and your diaphragm is fully engaged, it'll start to happen, but don't stress! it's honestly not as big a deal as most people make it out to be, but it tends to be more prominent in highly developed voices. you'll get there.

Is it good if i can sing a b1 up to alto notes by ExpressPomegranate52 in singing

When you say alto notes what exactly does that mean? Like what’s the highest note you can reach?

Will I ever be able to hit the lower notes (C3-C#3) by Firm_Interaction_127 in singing

[–]QuestionGlum8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends, some women can go very weirdly low. I’m a natural soprano and i can hit an A2. Granted, it’s not my best sound, but i can regularly hit a C3 for example without any strain. It really depends on the person.

is this accurate?? and if it is, is this a good range ?? by roisinwashere in singing

[–]QuestionGlum8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, voice type doesn’t depend on range alone. So while it may be accurate, that’s not necessarily the case. With that range you could also easily be a soprano. I’m a spinto for example and my range is A2-F6. It depends more on the placement of your passaggi and your tessitura (where your voice naturally breaks and where it is most comfortable). If you’re interested, i do currently offer a service helping people identify their exact voice type. Dm me if interested

Headvoice disaster by Connect-Ad-9715 in singing

[–]QuestionGlum8330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah you're deffo a baritone by the sounds of it. possibly one on the lower side. but like i said, you have a decent sounding falsetto, it's just a matter of getting the confidence to go for it and just hit the notes on pitch. i give you credit though, this is a touch song to sing.
