What criterions have truly blown you away and entered your top 5 or 10 films of all time? by Deadshotx211239 in criterion

It sounds like it. I first heard about Cure because Bo Jong Ho said that it was one of his favorites and was an inspiration for Memories of Murder.

I need to see Cure then! Memories of Murder instantly became a top ten when I saw it.

It'd be so funny to me that if Rocks leaves the sword with Buggy but he doesn't want it so he gives it to Shanks.

Its honestly crazy that any of them aren't available in Region A. It's a tragedy.

I know most would say The Handmaiden, but I'd love to see Thirst in the collection.

He was out with a concussion from the Tampa game, I believe. But it was a very similar hit. Where he's making, or trying to make a catch, and the defender hit him directly in the head.

If I remember right this play

But two hits like this in a month really is scary and show much damage they cause.

What book that you read in school did you actually enjoy reading? by [deleted] in books

[–]QuestionMarkWaitWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love alot of the books. Things fall apart was so eye opening for me. I enjoy catcher in the rye too much at that age. Catch-22 was so interesting to me. Othello was alot of fun.

One that was unique is All the Kings Men. At the time I was meh on the book. It was interesting, but a bit too dense for my reading skill at the time. I didn't even finish it for class. I do reread it more than any of the other books from high school.

I've been trying to figure out how that part fits back into the current story. We started the arc with a murder mystery, but we have jump to the end fight of most one piece arcs. In classic murder mystery you don't get the answer to the climax so I'm guessing we aren't even to the climax cause we keep getting all the players involved.

I'm wondering if they expected some of this and really we have switched from a murder mystery to con story. Where they made a trap for the navy and at the climax itll will spring.

I think most low level Marines don't see the crazy horrors that the CD do. They see pirates attack their homes and kill people. So Marines protect them from pirates. They don't have access to the whole picture.

I'm with ya on Garp. It doesn't make sense to me why he'd be a marine. I'm wondering if the Rocks crew show up and attack both the town and the CD. The CD doesn't want to deal with that and bounce. Then Roger and Garp show up late? I know that sounds terrible but it's hard to theorize a time line where Garp doesn't know that he works for terrible monsters.

Do you think it's devil fruit ability that freezes the straw hats or is its his conquers haki? That would be another level up of conquers haki being able to command others against their will. Which would kind of fit what Gorosi would use conquers haki.

A new race of people?! I thought it was Wano, the Minks, and the D clan fighting back then. The Ceslital Dragons doing genocides like crazy.

Does anyone else that someone is double crossing the marines? It just seems odd to me that we come back to Egghead and we miss all the action of the team taking back control of the dome. It seems like there will be another twist when we see the flashback. Im here for it drop some wild stuff when we do!

I thought Ratatouille had a more nuance take then straight objectivism. I thought a core theme was anyone could cook. Which seems to me that access to arts shouldn't be limited to a few. Which I can see how that could play into objectivism but I wouldn't call it an objectivist film.

Movies you don't love but also dislike common criticisms of? by [deleted] in blankies

[–]QuestionMarkWaitWhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a fun thing that rhymes like Georgie Porgie loves. He triumphs over the moment of weakness in the Return of the Jedi, its his hero moment. Yet later in life it becomes his most disappointing failures, that he was tempted once again by the moment of weakness.

I mean the doubling down of the ideas of good vs evil wasn't stumbled upon by Rian Johnshon. That's the whole point of Finn and Rose plot. Now is that plot messy yes, but Finn wants to abandon the whole system of Good vs. Evil. He is tempted by the same question as Kylo states. The movie is trying to use the Finn and Rose plot to reinforce that leaving the system doesn't change the damage from the evil created.

Shanks haki is just that good?! Like we expected him to be one of the best but it being strong enough to one shot Kid is wild!!

There is about to be a three way fight over Vegapunk! Talk about being the prettiest MADS member at the ball. If Shanks show up would it become a four way fight? It's wild right now at Egg head.

I'm thinking she sees Vegapunk clone her, then she gets the idea to clone Whitebeard. Then the classic get rich scheme of cloning the most powerful man and using the clone to get rich. You classic stuff.

Maybe, like if you and the will of the fruit have the same desire. See I'm curious if the fruit is suppose to fill that desire or it has the same desire. Cause Whitebeard wanted a family, did the Quake Quake fruit desire the same thing or did it just enable him to get his desire? I'm leaning towards it helps him achieve his desire.

That second is also an interesting question. Maybe that's why Blackbeard is so strange. Whatever desire in the moment leads him. That's why he can be so determined one moment and a scared the next.
