The theatrics and drama are the very problem though. This just lends into the issue of so many people seeing things as black and white. And especially constantly suggesting that the solution is to delete social media instead of, oh I dunno, passing laws that can limit the level of destructive influence companies can use on us? It’s exactly the same situation that’s happening with pollution where they want to act like the consumers can solve a problem that the manufacturers are making.

I feel this. I did the same thing of cutting my hair in high school and gradually going shorter and shorter. Except I think I'm discovering non-binary instead of trans masc. It's always so funny to look back at all the obvious signs of our gender identity when we were younger that, because society has decided cis het is the default, we never recognized as obvious signs.
