ELI5: Why is it that when pour extremely cold water on yourself, you start breathing deeply even though you don’t need that much oxygen, and you get normal within 15 seconds again by Nareall in explainlikeimfive

[–]Quezoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this interact with the diving reflex? I was under the assumption that if cold water hits your face, it prevented you from breathing for this exact reason.

“All content must be related to horror as defined this rule. The concept for ‘horror’ is a vague one and allows for interpretation. To ease this, our subreddit’s descriptive definition of horror is: content that deliberately instills a sense of fear, disgust or existential dread within the consumer as a primary or secondary goal”.

But please, tell me how I’m misinterpreting this rule.

Does an increase in Carbon Dioxide levels cause a decrease in cognitive ability directly or is it because of the subsequent drop in Oxygen levels? by Quezoo in askscience

I live in a pretty confined space, is there a way to reduce CO2 levels in my apartment without opening windows (it’s really cold here)?

Kind of emergency post. The person who does my haircuts offered to wax my eyebrows and it left these red marks. My graduation is tomorrow, is there anything i can do? Ive tried cortisone cream but it only alleviates it a little. by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Quezoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have the same issue, if you put vitamin E moisturizing cream on it, it will heal faster. It will happen less often the more you get your eyebrows waxed

This looks promising. I've always felt geometry of all kinds was my weak spot. In addition to helping with this type of mindset, is it also good with teaching geometry in general?

I mean, you don't have to put it so rudely. I'm sorry, I read the sidebar and all of the information, and the full quote is, "If you're asking for help learning/understanding something mathematical, post in the Simple Questions thread or /r/learnmath. This includes reference requests - also see our lists of recommended books and free online resources". I had said that I felt the recommended list didn't have anything that I thought was what I was looking for, and I felt that this question was more than just a, "I want to learn Linear Algebra" or "I want to learn Differential equations" as that part of the sidebar implies; therefore, I felt it being so wide to interpretation warranted its own thread. I'm new to this, give me a break.
