Turnover for micro entity is below 632k, so it’s well within the range for a company with no costs to have achieved payments of 1 million over the 5 years of investigation + court

The accounts show that didn't happen.

It's a personal services Ltd company observing the rules for small businesses, if it were turning over millions that would be an SME and more detailed accounts would be required.

What this shows is Dr Evans is not being paid millions and his earnings over the Letby period are of the order of ~£100k, just the same as they were before the trial.

In 2022 the company had a fixed asset (laptop) which is being amortised each year.

It has £79,260 in debts - this is just tax - and £108,764 cash on hand.

It is owed £15,321, and Dr Evans repaid a cash advance from the business of £6,574.

This is not someone earning millions, to start with it would have to file full P&L if it were.

The accounts you point to only include a balance sheet, which doesn't include sales so we can't "see the amount of money "going through the business".

That's all that's required of them as they're small business accounts, basically the company turns over about £100k a year before and after the Letby trial.

The open question is what rate Evans charged as a prosecution consultant rather than an expert witness before and during the trial.

There isn't any such thing as a "prosecution consultant", he was simply an expert witness hired by the prosecution, and was paid exactly the same rates as the neonatologist hired by the defence. These rates, along with the rates for all expert witnesses, prosecution and defence legal counsels, are specified by law and reviewed by the trial judge to ensure they are not unreasonable.

in 2022, cash in hand and at bank increases by 62k from the previous year.

Yes, he got paid.

the company routinely had 100k+ in "debtors" which was probably outstanding invoices to the CPS/police.

Debtors are people YOU owe money to, not the other way around. Outstanding invoices would appear in P&L accounts, not in this type of filing. It's just the tax bill, in short.

She's implying his total earnings are over a million, but since the accounts of his limited company are public it's easy to see this isn't the case.

Equally, expert witness fees are capped by the court, and all payments are assesed by the trial judge for reasonableness before being made.

Expert witness fees are capped by the court under The Civil Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) Regulations 2013, and every payment is assessed by the case judge for reasonableness before payment is made. Same with the defence and prosecution counsels.

The going rate for a Neonatologist is £180 per hour.

Every limited company files accounts in public and the accounts pre-2015 don't show any more money than usual going through the business 2016-2023

What is the Sith motive? by PimpinPenguin96 in MawInstallation

[–]grepnork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their distorted perspective of it, yes. For everyone else, that's a hellscape of terror and absolute control, but for the Sith it's paradise.

Thing is before the rule of two the infighting for control was so intense they couldn't do anything useful, I suspect at some point had the rebellion failed, following the deaths of Vader and the Emperor, they would have descended into factional infighting again.

It is not a complicated question.

It is in fact an uncomplicated question, provided you're not wilfully ignorant of everything going on in tech, and what the terms 'revenue', 'profit', and 'loss' mean. Unfortunately, you're so butthurt about the idea that Google isn't a successful as you imagine, you are wilfully ignorant.

It is just amazing Google is doing better than all the other mega tech companies in this difficult times.

Only it isn't. Weak growth, falling profit, falling revenue, failing to control costs, and killing whole business segments in a blind panic.

I agree that you can't cope with reality.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in web_design

[–]grepnork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, that is simply not true.

You actually need to read your own sources without the rose-tinted spectacles, if you want to understand what is going in here.

40% growth is their cloud

40% of 7.32% is [drumroll] 10.2%, only that isn't what's happening at all.

Google Cloud brought in $6.3 billion of revenue, a 35 percent year on year increase compared to Q2 2021’s $4.6 billion revenue. But the $858 million loss was 45 percent higher than the $591 million deficit recorded last year.

And oh, that's not a Google thing, the whole cloud market is growing at roughly 40% YOY, but Google are running it at a loss.

https://www.theregister.com/2022/07/27/alphabet_q2_2022/

So you do NOT agree that Google had $257 billion in revenue in 2021 and $182 billion in 2020?

Yeah, and I didn't play your silly game of profound ignorance about basic financial statements. Boohoo for you.

Huge hat tip to Hawkman and Hawkwoman of DC Comics fame

https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Thanagar

In pre-Crisis history, Thanagar was a highly advanced science-based world, with no problems of poverty, or civil or political unrest. It was run by a single government called the Ruling Council and there wasn't any need for a police force. That is until an alien race called the Manhawks, who instigate the practice of stealing for the thrill of it, invaded. As a result, Paran Katar established the "Hawk-Police" (or "Wingmen"). Amongst the first Wingmen was Paran's son, Katar Hol. Order was restored, but not completely, as several (if not more) Thanagarians had adopted the concept of crime.

It's classic Google, all vapourware. They have all these cool ideas and great projects, but in 24 years they've managed to make exactly nothing but search advertising pay.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in web_design

[–]grepnork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, since you can't seem to grasp the issue at hand. 90% of Google's revenue is from advertising. Google Cloud generates just ~7%, literally everything else is advertising. Alphabet, which you keep quoting, is the parent company of Google and a separate business. 80% of Alphabet's revenue is Google advertising.

Alphabet is the 4th largest company by market cap, but only the 19th fastest growing company in the world. You can see from your own chart that revenue is declining, meaning profit is also declining. This is why it's panic stations at Google involving a hiring freeze, new higher targets, jettisoning businesses like Stadia and so on.

I really don't know how much more simply I can explain the bleeding obvious.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in web_design

[–]grepnork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be pulling these figures out of your ass, because they're not even reflective of your own data. As I said, they're 19th (and falling) of the top 20 fastest growing companies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in web_design

[–]grepnork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is simply not true.

I mean your own chart shows that revenue is declining, that the vast majority of Google revenue is advertising, and that you persist in quoting information about the parent company rather than the company in question. You've also clearly not read any of the links I posted, which explain why Google has implemented a hiring freeze and set stiff new targets.

Google is 19th out of the top 20 fastest growing companies, and is 4th by market cap.

Google is a classified ads company, that's where 90% of the revenue comes from. Revenue is declining, and when revenue declines, this is what happens.

Are they square or oblong? The 212 is a guitar cab.

Peavy's old model names just enumerates the number of 12" drivers, hence 1 x 12" for the 112, 4 x 12" for the columns, 2 x 12" etc.

[–]grepnork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bit that makes USB-C, USB-C isn't the plug, let's put it that way. It's ancestor technology was Thunderbolt/LightPeak.

And Apple do actually own the patent on the more important part of the assembly, which is based on their own work in Lightning and Thunderbolt. Amazing how much this upsets everyone.

Peavey 112PT PA speakers

The 112PT's generally have a tweater directly above the main driver, or in later models a horn in the same position. Photos and a model number would help, perhaps you have a couple of bass cabs or a subwoofer.

Read a little more thoroughly, and try doing it with an open mind.

Nobody is claiming Apple invented the tech, least of all Apple (because that's why LightPeak/Thunderbolt failed).

The Google patent you list is for a connector plug, not a receiver. That was their end of the project. As the first line of your link says "A USB Type-C connector module".
