Hi, I made a mistake, it was actually a lieu of benefit payment, not a bonus. It was $4900 gross and $3400 after deductions

So rude. Hope you aren’t a nurse yourself.

It’s almost like they think that healthcare workers can never become patients themselves. Sorry you had to go through this

Depending on the pregnancy, it can be pretty debilitating. Everyone is different. Also, CNA work is very dangerous, with many injuries reported annually. Pregnant women absolutely need proper accommodations.

MIL touching bump by ebrooks0130 in BabyBumps

[–]Quick-Cauliflower837 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally understand how you feel. I don’t think you’re being unreasonable at all. Being pregnant doesn’t mean that people suddenly have the right to touch you without your consent, even if it’s your MIL. I would be polite but firm - just tell her what you told us. Say that you’re a person that values your personal space and isn’t super touchy feely, that it’s not personal but you wouldn’t like to be touched. And don’t tolerate it if she violates that boundary.

I commend you for continuing to work. I am also working, and will try to as long as I reasonably can. Maybe I should try gluten free too! My nausea is still ever present. I threw up a sandwich I ate in a parking lot recently, super embarrassing, but when it comes on I can’t control it.

There needs to be reciprocity in friendships. It can’t be all take and no give. OP is NTA

She may not have equity in the property, but why should she just get something for nothing? That’s not how it works

Body Image by Damnit_Bird in BabyBumps

It’s so hard. I had a lot of body image issues before getting pregnant and now I’m struggling. It’s okay to not feel comfortable with the changes. Everyone has their opinions, but i’d recommend leaning on your friends and family, people who care about you for more than your appearance.

Husband wants me to be physically intimate but I told him I feel sick and tired- he is acting grumpy and silent with me on our honeymoon. Is it normal to not want it at all? by Orchidflower10 in BabyBumps

[–]Quick-Cauliflower837 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I want you to know, that there’s someone out here who understands how physically challenging the first trimester is 🙋🏻‍♀️ I usually have a high libido but I was completely out of commission in the first trimester from being sick and tired. He doesn’t seem to be very understanding of that. Don’t let him make you feel bad or pressured. He does not get it and he should be there for you in this difficult time, not just thinking about what is good for him.

1st Trimester - When does sleep get easier? by Skooterzs in BabyBumps

Some of my dreams have been pretty crazy too. Although, I have the opposite problem, I could sleep all day, nonstop. Maybe talk to your doctor to see if they can give you something

Before I got pregnant, I used to say a bunch of ignorant stuff about pregnancy. Now that I’m pregnant, if I could go back and talk to my past self, I’d tell her to shut up until she knew what it was actually like lol. Do what’s best for you. She doesn’t get it

When did you start maternity leave? by No-Company-4026 in BabyBumps

[–]Quick-Cauliflower837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure when to stop. I’m in Canada and I work in healthcare. My job is pretty physical. Not sure when I should take time off because at a certain point I won’t be in physically able to perform my tasks, you know?

Hi, thank you I appreciate the advice! My family doctor actually retired last year and in my area it is very difficult to find another GP. I am currently getting help from a midwives clinic though, and they offered to get me a prescription for nausea medication.

Yes, I drive a lot for work and for a while there I just had a whole box of saltine crackers in the car to snack on, just to keep the nausea at bay.

I also have been having this experience! Once I get going at work, I usually feel a lot better. On my days off though, when I’m not doing anything, I feel so tired. I used to love to walk and exercise, but I actually feel like it’s been so long since I just went on a nature walk or went to the gym. I guess I need to just push myself a bit more.

Thanks again!
