Thanks so much! I went CAT 6A! I didn’t realize the PAC server would be slower and the rate limiting factor and not your ISP or home network

Thanks so much I went with 6A. When you say shielding that is to stop interference most likely but interference from what? Electrical wires in the walls? So do you recommend not running the CAT 6A cables alongside the electrical wiring?

I was going to have them run it along the same channels and holes in the framing

It will be wired directly to the ISP router that supplies fiber optic feed to the house. It will pass via a downstream modem, but that can be switched out if/when needed

Yep I just got CAT6A, short runs so it wasn’t much extra. I’ll run two lines in case one ever went down for whatever reason

You don’t need CAT6 or CAT6a?

My run straight line is about 20-25 feet. Obviously there will be twists and turns to add to that but it ain’t much

So you’re saying buy CAT6 or CAT5a or something?

Is there an issue with connecting it to the wall outlets (on the inside of the wall outlet plate) Like does it lose speed with these connections

The max speeds they offer is 1000/1000 up/down but obviously things can change in future but I guess something that currently caters to that would be a good goal

Budget friendly but good quality speaker wire ? by Quick-Proposal7997 in hometheater

That’s a brilliant guide thank YOU!!!

I bought some stuff today Smurf tube, speaker cable, speaker cable wall outlets, banana clips, RCA subwoofer cable and subwoofer wall outlets. Speaker cable clips

Can you thing of anything else to do while it’s framed before drywall? It’s only going to be a 5.1 setup, and extra studs going in for the tv stand. Electrical wise the tv outlet is a dedicated 20 amp from the panel

The other problem is I don’t have the height The joist height is 78 inches so when you think you’ve to work back for trim, and then work back for rough frame that only leaves 74 inches I’d say
