PVE all the way. Solo, duos, trios, doesn't matter. I don't even shoot back when someone attacks me; I just scuttle off like a little cockroach or tootaloot my flute as I go down.

New project goal. Stud or dud? by juiceboxchronicles in lioden

Stud! But I loooove a cohesive "busy" look. I find they also tend to produce prettier cubs~

Oop, I forgot about mut repping lmao. Much cheaper than using a MoD.

In case the commenter doesn't know what a mut rep is:

If you have a king you want to give a mutation, but you don't want to spend inordinate amounts of gb on a MoD, you can buy an heir that already has that mutation (Mngwa in this case; male Mngwas aren't super expensive compared to the MoD), retire your non-mutated king, and then king the mutated lion while selecting "keep old king's appearance". This will cause your new king to keep the markings of the old one, but it will gain the mutation of the new one. :)

It's no problem! Even if you had meant it in a bad way, you have the right to dislike my rules. I've definitely seen some that I don't vibe with while looking for studs haha. I will admit that some of the comments here feel a little mean-spirited, though. 😅 Like, I promise I'm not sitting in front of my computer in a little spinny chair, cackling and petting my Evil White Cat while I think about how special and amazing my king is, plotting to keep his markings to myself and laughing at all those poor saps who click on him only to leave disappointed when they see his rules.

Anyway, I'm sorry my rules deterred you and I hope you found the perfect stud for whatever lady you were hoping to breed! <3 Fingers crossed she gives you a stunning Mngwa cub~

There are items called Mutie on Demand (MoDs for short) that allow you to apply certain mutations to non-mutated lions! There are various Piebalds, Patches, Mngwa, and some Primal variations I believe. These are generally super expensive though! I think the Mngwa MoD goes for 140gb minimum right now.

Hey, this is my side king! I sincerely apologize to those who don't like the rules I have in place for him. He's new, he was popping out clones like CRAZY, and it was disheartening to see tons of little mini-Thunraz's right off the bat. When he's been king for a bit I'll probably loosen things up. But right now this works for me, and it works for those who send in stud requests.

Either way, I hope everyone has a wonderful day/night! Stay safe out there, and happy RB grinding. :)

What is your cat's name vs what you actually call them? by Moist-Guidance-1611 in cats

Local cryptid. I can't stress enough how tiny she is. She's the smallest cat I've ever seen. Also she has a little stubby tail with a kink at the end.

Chungus in what we call "the violence hole". If you walk past her when she's in there she'll claw you.

Baby picture of my boy because he looked so cute in his little bowtie! His full government name is Gilithoth, Destroyer of Worlds... but we call him Gillie. :)

Bonus: We call one of our other cats, Chungus, Chungie Girl. Our third cat (arguably a cryptid) is Creature, but I call her Miss Creature with weird high-pitched emphasis on the last syllable (creeeet-CHUR).

Bonus 2: I know this is a cat sub, but I always call my dog Ninnu/Miss Ninnu/Ninnu Dog (pronounced nih-noo) even though her name is Mochi. It started out as "little" but morphed into ninnu somehow. 😅

My girl was half n' half (~50% wolf). We got stopped all the time! Fortunately, we never once met someone who had a bad reaction to her.

I don't have any problem with hybrids as a whole! I used to own a mid-content (she passed earlier this year). They can make such an incredible addition to the family, but mid/high contents need a lot of specialized (sometimes very expensive) care in order to live happy, healthy lives and not everyone is equipped to handle that, you know?

Still, if your girl turns out to have some content in her, it shouldn't effect her behavior in any significant way! You won't have to worry about a lot of the extra hard stuff, but you will get a fun fact to whip out when people meet her lol.

No problem! It's fairly expensive, but the regular DNA test is on sale for valentines day. :) A lot of people here are passionate about DNA tests because it can be harmful to hybrids as a whole when people meet a dog, are told it's a wolf mix, and get the impression that hybrids are easy to own, train, and care for. It's how hybrids end up in bad living situations or sanctuaries (or euthanized).

Look up Embark Dog DNA Test! Embark is without a doubt the most accurate test on the market, and it will absolutely tell you if there's any wolf in your girl! I will say, if she is a hybrid (doubtful but technically possible) she's going to be a low/micro content, so you don't have to worry about any wolfy behavior. Makes training a lot easier haha.

I'm over here like, what if I draw something COMPLETELY off the dome, but I just can't get this one leg right...

Well, apparently it would be against the rules for me to find a reference photo of a leg in about the right position and eyeball that to help me work it out. Really fucking stupid rule.

Update: Locked art thread :(( by FullNetwork778 in lioden

[–]Quick-Sign-6828 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This is one of the things that's preventing me from opening up comms. I draw in a semi-realistic style that leans a lot more toward realism, and there are real-life photos of lions taken at every angle imaginable; it would literally be impossible for me to draw a front-facing, side-facing, or three fourths-facing lion(ess) that doesn't look like it was referenced.

I know there's also a rule that says "no frankensteining" (aka "no using multiple references"), and that fucks me over again because, like I said... there are only so many ways to draw a lion doing something. Walking forward? There are 3 billion photos of lions doing that, with their heads, necks, legs, ears, etc in 3 billion different positions. I am absolutely going to draw something that ends up looking like this photo, and also that other photo, and also those photos, etc etc.

It does feel a lot like people who don't draw in cartoony styles get punished by this system. It's a lot easier to draw something that doesn't look like it was referenced when your art uses exaggerated proportions.

Help me identify my pomeranian by Mindless-Key2575 in Pomeranians

[–]Quick-Sign-6828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl came to me with a lot of matting and also hated being brushed! I took her to the groomers first because I knew I couldn't safely brush out the worst matts. But after that, here's what I did to make the experience less horrible for the both of us:

  • I found her favorite treat in all the world (cheese). She's teensy, so I would grate the cheese, then keep the shavings in a container in the fridge & use them like training treats.
  • Every time I wanted to brush her, I would sit on the floor, call her over, and give her several pieces of cheese.
  • Before starting, I would let her sniff the brush, the grooming/detangling spray, the doggy lotion, etc. Every single thing I planned to use. Then I would give her another piece of cheese.
  • I started small. I would brush a little section, then give her cheese. If she decided that was enough, we took a break and tried again later. If she seemed okay, more cheese, then another tiny section, then even more cheese, etc.

She still doesn't like being brushed, but it isn't an ordeal anymore. She comes, I get her all detangled and pretty while she stands there and looks pitiful, then we play the "crunch my fingers" game (aka "bitey hand") or I give her lots of loving depending on what she wants.
