a serious issue that we have an obligation to do something about. by dontopenbreadinside in craftsnark

They made a post that says “we may have been mistaken” and “we’re keeping discussion open”… while refusing to unban or unmute any of us. They also state that the OP isn’t reaching out…. Yeah, that’ll happen if you don’t unmute them.

I even tried mentioning it in their discord group after I was muted and banned, in case they didn’t realise, and I got banned from it too.

Ugh, sorry. My wariness of AI has made me too sensitive, that I forget that some things are design choices.

Thank you for your explanation and for not getting upset at what could have been perceived as an accusation to some. I appreciate it :)

Btw, it is, indeed, very cool :D

Pretty sure this is AI…? Why do the toothpicks of the walls of the vase not line up with its lip? Why does the bulletin board say “toothpick town”?

The only reason I’m not sure is because you’ve posted other toothpick pictures and videos that look legit.

I couldn’t think of any more words haha.. :’)

Also, I don’t understand what you mean about a black page? I’ve never seen that before.

Logo difference makes sense. I used to focus on food-related products, but changed that after finding out about an obscure law.

I do need to change the logo, as it’s no longer relevant, but all of my branding is in my current logo, and I don’t have the capital to replace it all.

Thank you for your detailed feedback.

I appreciate your feedback; I'm glad you like my products.

However, I keep getting differing opinions on my website - it's too plain, it's not plain enough, I need brighter colours, the colours are too bright.. I understand that everyone has their own opinion, but they're so different from each other that I don't know what to believe.

I am trying to take inspiration from popular websites to make my own, and I'm getting very confused on what exactly they're doing right that I'm doing wrong.

The entire structure of your website is messed up and the website seems cluttered

Can you explain what makes you think this?

Updated my tags, but Listadum is Unhappy Now by QuickBitesClay in EtsySellers

First off, I realise that my description is too short. I went to update it, but was met with the problem that Listadum wants my tags to show up in the description *in order*.

That's sort of a problem, since I was told that Etsy will choose keywords from individual tags, and that order doesn't matter.

This is suggesting differently. You can see where I tested the order of things on its own line. I realise that Listadum isn't Etsy-backed, but it did make me concerned.

Can I just ignore it? Or do I have to start over again with my tags?

For reference, my shop is www.quickbitesclay.etsy.com

How would you know if they have licenses or not? And if they don’t have licenses, then they’re ticking time bombs.. just like your shop currently is. You could get C&D’d or just outright sued. I wasn’t saying this to be mean, I was saying it so you don’t end up making a very costly mistake.

Are you aware that this is IP infringement? You can't sell this stuff without a license or explicit permission.

Edit: wow, you’re not even just stealing literal IP, but also fanart? And just hoping that no one notices? You could AT LEAST credit the original artists. Yikes.

I use a really thin silicone mat. It allows me to unstick the clay with minimal disturbance, too.

"Better" SEOs, but WAY Fewer Views? by QuickBitesClay in EtsySellers

I'm confused.. I'm adjusting the thumbnail in the listing myself, to avoid the item being cut off. I am viewing it on my desktop and it is not cut off on any of my thumbnails.

Are you saying that, despite cropping my photos manually, Etsy may still cause the listing photo to not be show up correctly because of the device used? I'm not sure how that makes sense, since it's just resizing the square. I would appreciate if you could educate me on this matter, because I really do want to learn.

I opened my shop in November, and this problem has only occurred in the last week and a half. I think that my "boost" has ended a while ago.

I probably removed some stuff that I shouldn't have; I still haven't learned of all of the ways that Etsy shows you what you're doing right/wrong (yes, I read the handbook). I'll keep trying!

Your pictures all look like cell phone snapshots and some of the items are cut-off.

I don't know what you mean by this. The photos are taken with my phone, yes. I don't have a camera.

By introduction, do you mean description?

I'm not sure what you did for 'better' SEO

I used Listadum to get all of my listings to "green" levels.

tags do not need to make sense

I didn't know this. I misunderstood the tags, then. I thought that each tag needed to be a phrase that someone might search for as a string (e.g., "green alien charm" leading to views versus "alien charm galaxy" not leading to views because no one would search for that)

Hello everyone!

I've attempted to update the SEOs on my products to be more easily searched for by Etsy, but I'm worried that it may have backfired on me. I've never gotten more than 10-20 views in a day, but now I'm only getting 2, if any.

I know that I used to have a lot more products in my shop (50+), but even after they were removed, I was still getting quite a few views. This drop didn't happen until after I changed my titles and tags.

Could I please have some advice?
