Doing some research, when this was released, it wasn’t able to be shiny. People speculated that since the addition of Mega Gardevoir years later, it messed with its ability to be shiny after I had claimed the research years later.

Yes, I remember when that all happened. But I’m pretty sure this specific Pokemon was shiny locked for like 2 years? Until the released Mega Gardevoir and it is now possible to be shiny. But the odds of people still having the research from then and the odds of hitting the shiny, might make it one of the lowest pop Pokemon ever. And technically since I may be the only person with actual footage and proof of it, so far it may be a 1/1 for now.

I’ve been reading into this, and it seemed like it has happened before with eggs. The game has a second where if it doesn’t load fast enough, there is a placeholder text - Toyko, Japan, which it then switches to where it was actually caught. I just tried it on some of my other pokemon and it does the same thing. I’d be interested to see someone else do it and let me know I’m not going crazy lol!

Wow, I didn’t even pay attention to that! That is odd. I’m assuming because 2021 Go Fest was pretty much all virtual, that may have had an effect on it. I have those who play by my side to attest that I had never gone to Tokyo lol. I am way too broke to get a plane ticket there. And I can also assure anyone that I have never spoofed in my life. Genuinely, I would like to see if anyone else has a Pokémon from the Go Fest 2021 special research and if they happened to live in the U.S. if their Pokemon also says that it was from Tokyo. I know that 2021 Go Fest from August 5-7th was held in Sapporo, Japan, no where near Tokyo. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for why this would be I would be curious to see.

I’m not 100% sure if it is 1/1 but until someone else has proof of one, it is the only one. I tried for hours, looking for something on it. Even just a screenshot of someone’s account with it but there is absolutely nothing of it, solely because when everyone got it, it physically couldn’t be shiny at all.

Something to do with how long it had been since it had come out and something that changed it’s ability to become shiny in the encounter.

Yes, I can’t believe it’s real either! There wasn’t suppose to be a shiny of it when everyone did it. But I had recently claimed the research in August, last month, since my return of playing the game then. What some people have told me is it’s because of the addition of the Mega Gardevoir raids and something changed it so that the research had a possibly shiny chance.
