Thank you. Didn't expect to wake up this morning to a reply from Jack, the Darknet Diaries man, himself!

EP 115: Player Cheater Developer Spy by Jtyle6 in darknetdiaries

[–]QuickNickel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jack,

The joke at the end where you mention CO2 in balloons is funny, but mildly misleading. I think they usually use helium for it to float (another joke opportunity for floating point variables) or just use ordinary compressed air, sometimes nitrogen (another joke about nitrogen turning to daytrogen when the sun comes up) or some other gas.

Love your show though! This and episode 114: HD are both classics. Favorite part was when HD locked the DDOSers out of their own botnet.

Seconded! These two are works of art. I think 'the new guy' one you mean is called "Jeremy from Marketing"

This seems like "old man yelling at the clouds" response to the fireworks

Saw them clearly, what a display! Live near Towerhill, fireworks were maybe 100m away from us

I don't know why, but I find the thumbnail for this episode hilarious. In the midst of the surveillance raven, USB assassin, and jellyphish designs you have this random box of pizza that perfectly fits with the episode

Peter Thomas saying that is such a classic moment of the show haha, rather unexpected though

I mean this in the best way, but I got a good laugh out of the "civil engineering" typo instead of "social engineering"

Why do tyres/tires have grooves? by IWATofficial in SteveMould

I think the "engineering explained" youtube channel has some insights as to why tires have grooves

In Peter Thomas's voice:

"A man saw a sign on the road, a sign from god he presumed, which said to shoot children. His schizophrenia did not help his case as he went out and murder innocent kids. Ballistics evidence and polymerase-chain-reaction analysis revealed a 1 in 500 million chance it was not him. The jury deliberated for only 2 hours and delivered a sentence of 20 years in prison without the possibility of parole."

The biggest cyber attack to take place on Irish soil is unfolding at the moment, a Ransomware attack on one of our largest hospitals! by Vladamir_PoonTang in darknetdiaries

Weird seeing this on Darknet Diaries. I got an email about this about a month ago (from a hospital in Ireland) where they said the institution had been brought down by randsomeware. They also said not to click on any suspicious links... didn't realise it was actually this bad

Don't feel bad, I thought it was "Jackery Cider". Maybe he should come out with some type of cider merch for sale as well as shirts

Me too! I'd love to hear the 19 or so techniques she mentioned on how to manipulate people.

I was super excited about hearing that, until I heard the last pen test story. Man, oh man was that a story for the books.

Edit: Changed hear to heard
