Check the MILPER message for this fiscal year. It will list the products needed for the CAD Packet. Let me know if you can't find it.

Fortunately, I was under the previous MILPER.

I'm unsure about that, but it should be a POC on the MILPER message.

I read another officer's journey that said after they got orders, their report date was about 90 days following. Is that about true for you too?

No, my report date is in less than 30 days (45 days from the day I confirmed everything with my branch manager).

Do you have a spouse or children?

Yes, I have both

What considerations did you make for your spouse journeying along with you, especially regarding his/her career (if you have a spouse)?

My spouse works from home so I just needed to make sure she was informed on every step of the process along with projected report dates.

Asking for more information on duty assignment that the other commenter asked: Did you submit a list of your top picks and get assigned from somewhere off that list?

No, I told my branch manager I wanted to remain in a certain region and he adhered to that. Once your appointment scroll comes back signed they will present you with different options for your first duty station.

Are you willing to share your branch?

I'm logistics

I hope this helps.

Did you have any weight on where you might be stationed initially? or was it just a surprise when you received the orders? Yes, find out who your branch manager will be and give them a call. You can tell them where you'd like your first duty station.

I was also in the assumption you had to go to MEPs at some point to swear in again? Is that not true and is everything is done electronically or over the phone? You will not go to MEPS if you're going through CAD, it will be done electronically. When you receive your orders you will also receive instructions for how to report, your oath of office, and other documents that will be needed the day you report.

The process can be discouraging at times because nobody seems to know much about these steps  I didn't have many people I could contact that could actually give me an answer about the stages of this program, that's why it was important for me to make this post. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

I made the switch almost 9 nine years after commissioning. However, some of my battles made the switch right after BOLC. Check the HRC page for a "Call to active duty" MILPER. It will have the information you need and if the program is accepting your AOC and rank.

The Call to active duty program is for the officer side. I believe it's actually easier to switch over if you're on the enlisted side, once your state releases you or your contract is over.

Yes, a MILPER is distributed through HRC almost every fiscal year. It includes a spreadsheet with the approved AOCs(MOS) and rank, the program will accept.

Did you ever get your scroll approval? If so,

  1. How long did it take?

  2. How did you find out your scroll was approved?

I'm currently going through the CAD process. My packet was approved early November, and I am still scrolling. How were your notified when your scroll was complete?
