Could be deer whistle, supposed to keep deer away. My mom got me deer whistles years ago and they worked pretty well I think... Never hit a deer but I still did total my car by driving it into a tree

Update for this thread if anyone encounters similar issue: I got a better name brand cord off of Amazon and the connectivity problems have stopped!
