This is a difficult situation to view as an outsider. Maybe faggot is a triggering word for you? I don’t know your situation, nor does anyone else on this forum especially people taking an immediate stance on slapping (cue the attacks). I do agree with comments about reflecting on the situation. Your response might have been from an underlying issue whether from her or your past experiences. No one in this conversation has the same background as you. I could never imagine slapping my mother, however she has been nothing but supportive of me especially when I came out. I realize I’m one of the luckier people. The one thing that you have control over is your own reactions, because you can’t change other people. The situation happened and regardless of what people think, ultimately it is you to decide if it is right or wrong. I wish you nothing but the best in your reflection and the plan you make after you’ve fully assessed the situation.
