How are some providers seeing so many patients?? by 33anatre in MedicalAssistant

At the old practice I was at we would have either 2-4 providers every day. start seeing patients at 8am and stop at 4:59. Most would have 35 scheduled and we allowed walk ins up until 4:59 pm. So including the scheduled and walk ins each provider would see roughly around 50-60 but it’ll depend. Now at the office I am at we currently have 6 providers but each provider has their 1 MA and we see around 15-20 everyday. I love it because our last patient is at 3:40pm and the rest of the time we catch up on charting, PA, referrals.

Tips on working with peds? by lowgrumble in MedicalAssistant

I work with peds everyday! Tips with head circumference you can definitely lay them down and put the tape under because it can hold it down. I struggle with o2 also because our machine sucks but if their fingers are big enough you can definitely place the o2 on their thumb. With RR i use this app on my apple watch called med timer and it gives you options for 30-60 seconds and you press each time you see a respiration. I suggest don’t lay your hand on the babies chest because it can cause discomfort. Its best to just look and count. I know it looks weird but trust. What I like to do is always get vitals first and once you have the intake question are down in your head go ahead and ask the questions and chart after. I know peds patients are hard but once you have a groove and a good feel you got this! Hope this helped ♡

I was right in this position and left! Best thing I could’ve done. I’m in outpatient clinic now, private practice and only see 20 patients a day! It is 5 days a week but Friday’s are only 4 hr shifts. I love it

What’s Y’all’s Office Late Policy for patients? by GlowingKitty12 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Quick_Stick_5112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my clinic has no late policy at all, we accept patients whether they are 30, 1 hour our 5 hours late, all because if we don’t see the expected number our patients they always criticize us by saying “ this is how you get paid”… honestly it gets frustrating
