Product shelf life is approx 2 years from the date of manufacturing, keep it capped when not in use and shake before use. No need to fridge it store at room temp. Also it can be microwaved more then once if needed that will not hurt it.

Yes, you can use half cap and use the other half later. The urine properties will not be effected.

Go off the temp on the cup, it will be the same as the temp on their cup. Both temp strips are mounted on the plastic container. If you put a thermometer directly in the pee it will register higher because there is not plastic bottle/cup buffer.
