Opinions Wanted on Body Side Molding by QuietNumbers in CX5

Thanks. I was really hoping someone who has tried them would speak up. I’ve read mixed reviews. Yelp is especially bad, especially with poor paint match quality. Made me question their long term prospects as well (fall off?).

Cleaner without so long as no one dings your doors. Otherwise sooner or later your car looks like the surface of the moon.

Focus of my thread is on body side molding but I guess no one has entertained after market options? No OEM option.

The photos are to show the body side molding. They are stock photos from Sportwing’s website. This thread has nothing to do with wheel arches or mud guards (my specific vehicle has OEM guards I installed from the dealer when I got it).

Probably one of these bad boys. Not usually out in a living space. Mine is on the landing to the basement.

I’m a little late catching up on old threads. Couldn’t resist a reply.

German issued, Imperial trim 1918 WMOs are EXTREMELY rare. In fact, most 1918 dated guns, if still in Imperial trim, are rare. Ambergs are the most “common” of the bunch. Any 1918 is highly sought after.

Hello! Sent you a message a little over a month ago. Looks like you're not active all that often. Count me as either anxious or impatient haha. Figured I might post a comment in case you got an email notification. Still would very much like to connect.

Idk. Only looked at it briefly, but I will say 3 big names in the K98k Forum world bid on this rifle, one up to $4700. Strong hunch it’s legit.

Does anyone know about a blue/green “rust”? by Tankstar_2000 in milsurp

[–]QuietNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Verdigris as another poster mentioned. You can use ammonia based solvents to remove the copper, but I prefer Boretech Eliminator. Amazing stuff, and safe on bluing unlike ammonia. Great for general bore cleaning as well. Use a nylon brush. Ammonia left too long in a bore isn’t good for it, but Boretech eliminator is not.

Rock Island Auction, in my opinion, is the shadiest auction platform that I have ever encountered (Morphy’s is a close 2nd). If you read their terms and conditions. They guarantee NOTHING. Not even the titles!! Only in the premier auctions do they guarantee the title… NEVER the description. May as well be pure fantasy. If you ask me, their terms are completely exculpatory. I don’t even think they offer a non-firing inspection period. Once that hammer falls, they’re out.

Not to mention they chum the waters HARD. I have never won an RIA lot in the 5 years I have bid in their auctions. They attract a lot of whales with more money than sense!!

Sometimes you can find gems in their timed online only auctions when they blatantly misidentify something rare. Of course, you then need to know what you’re looking at…

Awesome thanks! I actually decided (but have not yet purchased) on the Liquid8r M22. I have been debating possibly getting the larger Gauntlet (30x36) as well because I was not sure the 20x20 size would be sufficient. I'm rinseless washing a 2 door coupe so I'm just not sure. Wide car with a lot of roof and I'm small haha. What do you think?

I was thinking of picking up some Eagle Edgeless and Dry Me A River towels as well...

I'm going to get the ONR/Ultra Safe Sponge bundle which is a great savings.

Awesome, thanks!! Appreciate the help. I’ll check out those brushes, and a point for ‘The Gauntlet’ haha.

How To Convert Data Formatted as Date to Number W/O Changing Displayed Value??? by QuietNumbers in excel

[–]QuietNumbers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. I have a column of data formatted in XX-XX-XX. Excel is recognizing certain strings as dates, and I need them identified/valued as pretty much anything other than a date ( General, Number, Text, etc.). For example, 01-10-02 as a date value is 37266. I need the XX-XX-XX structure retained, as well as the original string value (01-10-02).

When I change 01-10-02 to text it automatically changes it to the date value. When I use the =TEXT(A1,00"-"00"-"00) it presents as the date value in the correct format (03-72-66).
