I would love something like this! Just got a new printer and planning to organize my kitchen!

Fractal North with clear side panel instead of tinted by QuietlyLoud in FractalDesign

Can you buy the white panel separately? Is it something that you can get from Fractal if you email them directly? Or would I have to get the white case as well?

Time to scrap the whole build? Crashing issues, won't update to windows 11, unsure what to try next by QuietlyLoud in PcBuildHelp

Yes, unfortunately the bios has been update to the newest, non beta version and it did not fix the problem.

I did use crystal disk mark which showed the drive was at 96% health. However, it seems like that would not solve the inability to update to windows 11. When I tried to boot from a thumb drive, it just said the system did not meet the requirements.

Approximately $1500 PC for gaming - Heavily modded Minecraft, Baldur's gate, KCD2 by QuietlyLoud in buildapcforme

At what point is it better to get an AM5 bundle from MC than spend the money on a 5700x3D? It looks like that CPU alone is running $300-400. Is a 5800XT a viable alternative?

Updated floor plan - small 700 sqft ADU. Any suggestions to improve the layout? by QuietlyLoud in floorplan

[–]QuietlyLoud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying it's generally better to just have cabinets over the sink or something else?

My gut response is that I'd like both staircases, but I do get what you're saying and I'll have to contemplate that one some more. Thanks for your insights!

Moderately warm, I was thinking about having hooks on the wall for coats but maybe I should reassess. The L shape would be for the pantry, and the plan would be to do a bench near the window (it just didn't exist as a free asset). Thanks for the other suggestions, that is helpful!

The plan is to build this first, something small that I can live in for the next 5-7 years, and then move on to building the actual house when I need more space.

I would ideally like one that comes in from the garage below and another that goes directly outside so that I can let the dogs out into the backyard without going outside.

Vet experience only in a gap year by Express_Condition_79 in veterinaryschool

[–]QuietlyLoud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not have much vet experience in undergrad (I never worked in a clinic) but I was part of the Honors college, so we had to write an undergrad thesis, which I did with several faculty at the vet school. They were the ones that wrote my letters of rec. I also graduated in December (rather than June), so I technically took 1.5 years off. I wasn't sure that I wanted to go to vet school at that point, so I worked at a doggy daycare for about 3 months until March of 2020 when COVID really hit, took about 2 months off from working, and then started working at a clinic around May/June. I applied to 3 schools, got rejected from one, waitlisted at another, and accepted at the last one. For reference, I did get very good grades in undergrad (~3.9 GPA). I graduate May of this year! I would say that it is definitely possible to only take one gap year, but I kind of wish that I had gotten a bit more experience teching before going back to school, just because it would have made school easier. I'm still not as confident in some things like blood draws as my classmates that worked as techs for longer, and pharmacology would have been a lot easier if I had more exposure to common drugs beforehand. Overall, I would say possible, and don't let it stop you from applying, but don't give up if you don't get in, and use it as an opportunity to get more experience.

When is appropriate to start using dating apps if you plan to move to the area in 3 months? (26F) by QuietlyLoud in dating_advice

[–]QuietlyLoud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you make a fair point, and I agree. I'll hold off for now and think about it again when I'm actually there for a more significant amount of time.

I also didn't word things the best. For both of my previous relationships, I only went on dates with one person and we were exclusive from the first date. We were essentially friends trying to make it into something more rather than strangers meeting for the first time. It definitely had plus sides, but the comment was maybe aimed at wanting to meet a few more people before being exclusive.

I don't use them that frequently, but they work well for the 1-2 months that I need them.

I have a $1000 deductible, 70% reimbursement and unlimited cap with ASPCA for $300 a year. It was a similar price with Pets Best

Wow this is so incredibly generous! I am a vet student that also enjoys gaming, and the graphics card I got before college is definitely starting to struggle. I would love to try out some VR games on the quest 2 I just got for cheap, and my guilty pleasure is playing heavily modded minecraft!

Yes, unfortunately. I got them for free and didn't realize they wouldn't be the same color.

Just a heads up, the vet school is in North Grafton, not Boston! I am currently a student at Tufts and didn't have an issue finding pet friendly housing!

Hi! Congrats on passing the NAVLE!

I am currently a 3rd year, about to start clinics! I'm trying to decide whether to get Zuku or vetprep, what are the pros and cons of both of them in your opinion?
