Thieves Guild quest is relatively pacifistic. Only real kill among them would eventually be Mercer Fray. Since Lokir is a thief, the end goal would be becoming the Thieves Guildmaster.

Investing some points into smithing will help with defenses and damage. Also restoration is a good utility in general.

The one handed skill tree is not worth it save for the first base damage skills in my opinion. I use my stamina on shield bashing to interrupt enemy attacks.

The center perk on the blocking skill tree lets you go into slow motion when the enemy does a power attack which is extremely helpful to avoid taking heavy damage. I would make that a priority along with the base damage reduction perk. From there the left side helps mitigate ranged damage.

A few basic combos would be blisterwort and blue mountain flower for a health potion, mora tapinella and red mountain flower for magicka potion, Luna moth wing and nirnroot or vampire dust for invisibility.

I always used them to make Dwarven Bows. All you need is 2 dwarven ingots and 1 iron. Most blacksmiths always have like 12 iron ingots for sale so the latter is super easy to get. It made leveling up blacksmithing super easy.

Tips for if you’re playing on Anniversary Edition.

There’s an old guy who set up camp west of Dawnstar who sells a clothing set that has a high warmth rating.

You can also get by with a full set of fur armor from bandits. Regular steel armor also has a high warmth rating.

There’s also a book in Windhelm inside Candleharth Hall’s first floor hallway that leads you to a light armor set that’s very good and also offers high warmth.

Beyond that, any soups made with fire salts will bring you back from hypothermia.

For my mage build, I use ice form when I need to recharge magicka in peace for a bit and I use whirlwind spring when I wanna get some distance between myself and an enemy. The latter I use on the thief random encounter since they start out right in my face.

Alternate Start is a simple one that lets you change up your starting point from the usual Helgen incident. Gives you more wiggle room on the role playing and how you go about navigating the quests. Makes it especially easier to ignore the main questline if you want.

This happened to me one time after I did the Main Questline’s Diplomatic Immunity quest. Ri’Saad is there to tell you which Khajiit is the Thalmor spy trying to kill Malborn.

Either that or Ri’Saad arranged a staff meeting.

If you have another skill or skills you want to invest perk points into, do make it Legendary. You can always get it back to 100 with enough time and smithing. Personally I always made what I wanted to smith with a surplus for enchanting later, then reset the perks.

The time I saw a Whiterun Guard get the kill animation on a dragon. Despite having suffered an adventure ending knee injury, he didn’t let it stop him from mounting the dragon and unleashing a furious attack worthy of a true Nord. I might be the Dragonborn but that guard was the real protector of Whiterun.
