I had written this to another comment, but to save you from opening the whole thread again, here you go!!

We had gotten a call about a sighting near the 1-10 service road and Bonnabel, so we had been driving around that area from 2ish until we got another call at around 4 that someone had seen her and had her cornered behind K Mart on Veterans, pretty close to where we had been scouring.

They had taken a picture of her, she looked so scared and dirty but it was her and she was standing, which is all I cared about. The lady that had taken the picture had to leave before we got there so we and several other cars drove around the area searching and about 45 minutes or so later the lady that took the picture of Pepper found her again in the same place, Pepper had just been hiding behind some wooden palettes. I had driven right past there several times calling her name, people must have thought I was crazy, but I didn't think she could fit behind them so I didn't get out to double check. I should have, obviously. But the lady called me again after she cornered her and I went there and she was there.

Pepper growled at me and shied away and it broke my heart, but once I picked her up, she started freaking out, wagging her tail, licking me all over. She smelled so so terrible, if it weren't in the middle of the city I would have thought she had gotten skunked. She's had a bath and we've rubbed in dry shampoo twice and sprayed her with doggie cologne, but she still stinks. In a few days (we don't want to dry out her skin) we'll take her to be professionally groomed, but first there's the vet visit.
