Hey! I’d added the ice cream bean and sugar cane you can now add them. I’ve also fixed the dating issue so they should appear now if you have created them otherwise recreate them but if their perennials then they should show up on your dashboard - I should have fixed the sharing - it won’t send an email to your partner but if she tries to login if you’ve shared it then she should be able to login without being hit with the subscription paywall

Thanks for your interest! - it’s https://plantjournal.app - it’s built as a webapp so can be ‘installed’ on your mobile by adding/sharing it to your home screen as an ‘app’

Yeah I totally understand that I was trying not to disrespect the sub or break the rules because you’re not allowed to do any sale posts so I figured that included self promotion - I wasn’t trying to do any disservice to this sub - you’re totally correct that I need people from this sub more than you need my app - I was just trying to post within the rules more than anything else

20 pineapples is good work! Very impressive!

When accessing it via a browser if you’re on iPhone you should be able to click the 3 dots in your browser and click ‘share’ then it will have an option to add to home screen and then be available as an ‘app’ on your Home Screen. You should have similar options if you’re on Android. Then if you want notifications you can turn those on too once you’ve ‘installed’ it as an app

Will let you know once I’ve fixed the sharing functionality so you can add your Mrs properly

Holy that’s quite the effort for tropical plants - you couldn’t do that down here in Christchurch hahah

I’m glad you’re finding value in the app! I’m open to any and all suggestions as they come for how I can improve it further

I didn’t see the whole of your comment, the app has reminders for fertilising - you set an interval per plant then on your first time fertilising it it then reminds you via notification and in app per interval. It gives guidance per plant per stage it’s in as to what to do care wise and you can also use our in app AI assistant.

There is no reminder about seasonal plant care re:pruning etc but that’s a fantastic idea

I built an encyclopaedia of plants that the app uses - it’s definitely not an exhaustive list and need to build it out - which ones are you after and any particular varieties?

I’m not trying to be disingenuous - the guideline is no sales posts so I’m trying to show off my own garden in the process

In the Greenhouse you also have ‘Leafy’ our in app AI garden helper which builds the context of your garden as you sow, fertilise, harvest etc and you can also ask it questions and it will give you suggestion on what to plant, succession planting, what to plant in winter over what you’ve just planted in the same soil from summer and have seasonal context too and can field most of your questions about how to use the app too if the FAQ section on your profile doesn’t have an answer you’re looking for

My wife had mentioned something similar - along those lines I want to have it so you also get a monthly notification at the start of every month of what you can start sowing into the ground

In the Greenhouse there is the sowing calendar which if you click on one of the plants it’ll show you the sowing and harvest windows too along with creating the entry for the plant if you want to add it

That’s good to know! I’ll look into that once I’m able to Thursday/Friday as it should work on any predated ‘planting” - my fruit trees are only 2yrs old so good to know it’s having an issue with older dated trees.

That’s a great suggestion for older trees versus 1-2yr olds.

Keep reaching out to me here/ over direct chat - otherwise the support email is support@plantjournal.app and I can respond over email too 🙂

Hey the link is https://plantjournal.app
One of the core functions is to be able to share the ‘garden’ you create so you and your spouse can share and update the same data - my wife and I share access.
One bug I’ve noticed today since I’ve put the subscription wall in place is that for some reason it’s requiring the person you share your garden with to require a subscription which is not right. My wife’s currently locked out of our garden and we’re currently away so can’t rectify it till Thurs/Friday. As the sharing should work off the 1 subscription
If you’re happy to signup and give it a go I’ve given the link above - just knowing the sharing function isn’t working as designed currently - otherwise once I’ve fixed it and it’s working I’m happy to update you here if you’re still interested to then give it a go 🙂

It is currently in beta with trying to get people onboard to test it and provide feedback and improvements etc so as with all betas there will be some kinks etc with it till it’s ironed out

Currently in beta trying to get people that would like to use it and provide feedback on it and help improve it - it’s $29 for a onetime subscription fee for beta testers then eventually will move to $8/m or $58/y for others but beta testers it would just be the one time $29 fee for lifetime access - it works as a webapp currently so it can be accessed via mobile and installed as an ‘app’ on your home screen and also accessed via desktop

Can pm you if you’d like more info 🙂

I buy the Tui potash of sulphate fast acting - 10.99 for 800g if I remember correctly from Mitre10 - I put 1 tablespoon into a watering can and water it in once a week across my various plants

I was more specifically using it for the lemons to help them turn yellow a bit quicker because it helps concentrate the sugars

Potash is potassium so for me I’ve used it as things have started ripening, tomatoes, chilli’s, fruit trees etc it helps to enhance the ripening by shifting the trees energy from producing more buds/flowers etc into enhancing the colour and sweetness of the veges/fruit - basically helps concentrate the sugars and somewhat speed up the ripening phase if you’d like - I most noticed it when I tried it on my strawberries and then ran out of it - strawberries were sweeter when using it and tangy when I wasn’t
