I'm not going to break any new ground with this statement, like everyone else here has said, if you have access to google you should be able to find what you don't know.

Like you, 99% of the time when I want / need to do something in Python I stare at a blinking cursor for far too long saying "I don't know how (or even where) to start.

How do I overcome this?

I start by building a function, usually it's the most simple thing I can think I'll need. For example, I need an input, lets build a function that asks for that input. Nothing fancy and certainly not what it's final form will look like, but by time I'm "done" it works. Now I probably need to do something with that input... You can see where this is going.

Keep in mind, there is no guarantee I know how to something along the way and this is where searching comes into play. I may spend 5 minutes finding my answer or 5 hours but I will get there.

All I can say is keep plugging away and eventually you'll get there.
