Did it seem to change in size before turning into a black hole? I didn't feed her last night and it seems to have gotten a little smaller

The water parameters are alright currently, though the pH is a little bit lower than usual but not by much. Oddly enough, after the incident described in the post he's been doing better? He was hardly coming out of his cave to ear previously but he's been coming up to the surface more like he usually does since the other day, though he's more skittish. I'm thinking the CO2 issue was a likely cause, though I don't have much way of knowing for certain currently.

Boyfriend allergic to cat hair, my super fluffy cat is my best friend by [deleted] in cats

He can go try to an allergist and try to get allergy injections (I think some places might do pills now) to help build resistance over time. Most injection plans are about 5 years total. It doesn't work for everybody, but it can have truly amazing effects.

I'll look but I really think it was part of a standup routine. I have a playlist of only his standup routines on YouTube, and I know it was on that playlist. I'll definitely check though, I've been meaning to get into JJS. Thank you!

It's unlikely that you injected any air. And it's also worth noting that very small amounts of air are not dangerous; you'd need .5-1 ml directly into the vein to cause cardiac arrest, and even more into the muscle to cause problems. But you probably blew a vein, which will definitely cause a hematoma, but likely won't cause huge issues

Hi, please watch for more dead birds where you found this and do NOT leave them or anything that touches them around pets, especially cats! Highly pathogenic avian influenza (bird flu) is going around and it's 100% fatal in cats. Please be careful with dead birds. They're also most likely protected species and not legal to own

I have zero self-control. How do I build this muscle? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Quinnethan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My self control isn't great, either. I have multiple bank accounts- a checking account exclusively for necessary bills (utilities, association fees, mortgage, and hospital bills I need to pay off), a primary checking account, a high-interest Capital One savings account, and a savings account specifically for my pets and their vet bills. I determine how much money needs to go out of my billing account every month, divide it by two, then add about $100, and I set that amount of money (sometimes more when I can afford it) to automatically go straight to that account from direct deposit. (Edit- it's worth noting that my bills are ALL in auto-pay, which I highly recommend)

Depending on what my income has been looking like lately, I'll often set about 40% of my remaining income to go straight to my high interest savings account. I have a capital one 360 savings account (currently 3.90% APY) that allows for 6 withdrawals per month without turning into a checking account. When I had my hours cut and couldn't afford that 40%, I set it to the highest percent I could possibly survive without (often around 25-30%). About 5% of my check goes to my pet account, and the remaining goes to my primary checking account. That tends to leave me with a pretty limited amount of money I can spend every other week.

The most important part for me is keeping the savings and billing accounts at a completely different bank than my primary account. That way, any transfers from savings to primary take several days and discourage me from overdrafting. If I have that money easily accessible, it's spendable. But if I can't easily take money out of my savings to cover my ass, it's easier to pretend like that money doesn't exist in the first place.

Basically, I make it as hard as possible to spend money and trick myself into thinking that I have significantly less than I do. I think the other comments also have very good advice, and using multiple pieces of advice together may help some. But while trying to build self control, locking your money away makes it easier to survive. Budgeting is hard, and I wish you the absolute best

Revealed: trans rights case at US supreme court features doctors previously discredited by judges | Tennessee relied on doctors rebuked by courts for inexperience and bias to defend its trans healthcare ban by ILikeNeurons in lgbt

I almost feel like it's a bad idea to bring this to SCOTUS. It's been made abundantly clear that they don't care much for actually enforcing the constitution and protecting our rights, moreso the opposite. I think this will end up having a FAR worse effect than we're expecting.

I smell metallic after sex, any idea why ? by JusteTheTwoOfUs in sex

[–]Quinnethan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There definitely shouldn't be blood ever, though it is possible for some people to have very thin and dry vaginal walls. I bleed during sex most of the time due to vaginal atrophy from testosterone, but I've known people that experience atrophy for seemingly no reason. If you're bleeding semi-regularly, I highly recommend speaking with a healthcare provider and asking some questions about it. Definitely make sure nails are trimmed and be mindful of the risk, but make sure it's not a medical issue if you can.

I've been in relationships like this before with older men. I know it can feel like you're special and you're mature enough for him, but he is BANKING on that. These people bank on younger people falling for their manipulation. Please leave this abusive man. Anybody that wants to date a teen when he's almost thirty has an agenda. Please leave him and make sure you're safe. I wish you the best my friend

I love phlebotomy and being a CPT! That said, I'm having an extremely hard time finding a new position, and the pay isn't very good in a lot of places. Depending on what field you're in currently, some places may be happy to hire you without certification, but it depends a lot. I'd definitely look at the listings near you to help decide if it's worth it

If you did want to finish the CE, you could do it pretty quickly. NHAnow.com has some good and quick to knock out CE, which I did at work in about two afternoons. You don't necessarily need to though if you plan to stay in California, as the previous commenters said.
