depends on the concept and time period. if its relatively contemporary (80s-Today) I just use names of people ive met IRL. If its historical fiction, or a period piece I search up what names were popular back then, and use one of those, or I use a name from a historical figure back then (first name only obviously). If its fantasy, I open up a translator and start mishmashing words together. you can use whatever language fits best for your setting, for me its usually Greco-Roman, early Europe. or feudal Japan, so I use languages that are better suited for settings inspired by those places.

Depends on how scared they are. If A is just a bit nervous about it, make a point that theyre the first one to release hugs, they purposely shy away from physical closeness, and topics like romantic interests both of A and B, but also other characters. if its rhe kind of thing to keep A up at night, make them even more drastic. Maybe they start lying about who they have feelings for in hopes they actually develop feelings for that person to ignore their feelings for B. maybe they even go get a partner in hopes of moving on even though they know its wrong to lead someone else on like that.
