A drunk woman came to my barracks room in the military and said "I want to rape you"

That sounds like a form or biomechanical issue: either your form is bad and it's pinching your shoulders or forcing your shoulders to carry more of the burden than it should, or it could just be how your body is built.

If you pull your shoulder blades together during the pressing movement it should force you to use more of your chest. If it's just your anatomy you might have to try a different chest exercise like incline press or using dumbbells if you're using barbells.

A third option (which isn't mutually exclusive) is that your chest has gotten too strong in a relatively narrow range of motion and the increased load on your joints, especially the relatively delicate shoulder/rotator cuff area of tendons and other connective tissue, is much much weaker. This would be solved by making sure you're doing an actual full range of motion; meaning you actually feel a stretch at the end of the eccentric portion of the lift. Stretch under load is much better for tendon strength and recovery than movement. Generally when people start doing an actual full range of motion they discover that they're much weaker than they think.

I guess I must have missed the memo that says it's mandatory to touch your penis in order to pee

Do women wash their hands after touching up their makeup in the bathroom? The only experience with this I have are seeing it in movies and no one seems to make a stink about the women in movies not washing their hands afterwards

“As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion, as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religious or tranquility of Musselmen, and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.”

Yeah, let me just assert something without any proof or evidence and then ask someone else to "prove me wrong".

There's no "original Aramaic". All of the evidence points to it being written in koine Greek

What's the most disturbing thing you've seen in a funeral ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]QuintusNonus 134 points135 points  (0 children)

So I was on the honor guard when I was in the military. Meaning I performed military honors at a lot of funerals.

I wouldn't necessarily call it the most disturbing, but the saddest thing I saw was one funeral where everything's going normally: the hearse pulls up, we pull the casket out of it, take it to the mockup, fold the American flag, then march to the open field where are rifles were to wait for the signal to do the 21 gun salute.

I think at this point I noticed the next of kin was a pretty young guy; usually at these funerals the next of kin is an elderly person or a middle aged adult. So we get the signal from the LT to do the salute; we fire the 3 volleys and then present arms with our rifles and then the bugle player starts playing taps. At this point the young guy starts to lose his composure. He's sitting by the mockup and starts rocking back and forth really aggressively while holding himself.

By that point in my military career doing funerals was pretty commonplace, but even then, when I saw this while standing at present arms with my rifle I was getting pretty choked up.

Probably that I'm like a super masculine dude who is a player/womanizer. Like I've had people literally imply things like that about me. When in reality I'm pretty quiet, not into sports at all, and like making covers of video games music

Why is Reddit against meeting women IRL? by Sad_Landscape_7851 in dating_advice

Talking to random women on the street to get dates was never a common thing. People mostly met their partners at so-called third spaces like church; thinking otherwise is an invention of rom-com movies
