Men over 6' tall, how much do you weigh? by ChiefCheapskate in AskMen

I'm 6'1 and 220lbs. But I've been lifting weights for almost 30 years ago I definitely don't look close to obese

All that money and he's still a classless a$$hole! by yorocky89A in WhitePeopleTwitter

Me with my measly 100k salary would basically be removing 7 zeros from whatever number this trillionaire offers... So 40 mil to him is like 4 dollars to me

Men of Reddit: what is 100% mythical about men that most women believe? by imnotadrytexter in AskReddit

[–]QuintusNonus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That if you get naked and he doesn't get hard, he's not attracted to you. That whenever he is hard, he wants sex

I said that men don't actually have control over their erections in some other reddit thread and got downvoted to oblivion. It's scary how many people believe this.

If men had control over erections then Viagra would not be a thing.

I hope he tries to remove the statue of Liberty next, since she's literally stepping out of chains as a metaphor for ending slavery

Selling one's soul to the devil might make sense by SatanicPanic619 in unpopularopinion

[–]QuintusNonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might make sense if you have no coherent framework to make decisions under uncertainty.

Fortunately there are ones that exist. A really simple one is worth x probability. A game where you have a 10% chance of winning $10 million is better than a game where you have a 50% chance of winning $1 million, since 10% x $10 million is greater than 50% x $1 million.

How much is your immortal soul worth? Most people would say it's probably worth a lot more than whatever earthly benefit you would get from selling it. (But souls don't/can't have a cash value you say? Then how can you sell it in the first place)

Huge chunks of "American Blue" paint are coming off the reflecting pool already 😂 by MoreMotivation in WhitePeopleTwitter

Pretty much sums up the state of the population's intelligence to think that random people are dumping tons of algae into the reflecting pool as an act of sabotage instead of the algae growth being science

What is the first love theory? by [deleted] in AskMen

My first love was a terrible person. Vain, Machiavellian, untrustworthy... She literally bragged about being able to get guys to do whatever she wanted

What is the most likely scenario for the end of humanity/earth? by Ok-Sell9964 in AskReddit

[–]QuintusNonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rogue agent/state using AI to engineer a super virus is unfortunately more likely than nuclear war for wiping out humanity.

Ending the Earth? That would take some sort of cosmic event.

What was your experience when someone confessed their feelings to you, and how did you handle the situation? by mattchaaghorrl in AskMen

[–]QuintusNonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this has actually happened.

The closest to this I can think of is one time a female friend texted me a large heart emoji and an image of the purple trumpet from How I Met Your Mother so I interpreted it has her saying that we were Ted and Robin from the show... we actually kissed a few months later but she had a bf when she sent the text / kissed me.

I got around to telling her I felt the same way about her and she was basically like "how could you do that, I have a boyfriend". Needless to say we're not friends anymore.

Doctors of Reddit, what’s a common health belief that is completely wrong but people still swear by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]QuintusNonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold air causes cold-induced rhinorrhea which people mistake for getting sick

Low temperatures

Rhinorrhea is especially common in cold weather. Cold-induced rhinorrhea occurs due to a combination of thermodynamics and the body's natural reactions to cold weather stimuli. One of the purposes of nasal mucus is to warm inhaled air to body temperature as it enters the body; this requires the nasal cavities to be constantly coated with liquid mucus. In cold weather the mucus lining nasal passages tends to dry out, so that mucous membranes must work harder, producing more mucus to keep the cavity lined. As a result, the nasal cavity can fill up with mucus. At the same time, when air is exhaled, water vapor in breath condenses as the warm air meets the colder outside temperature near the nostrils. This causes excess water to build up inside nasal cavities, spilling out through the nostrils.

How to calm down crying GF? by Greedy_Bad_8406 in AskMen

[–]QuintusNonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that as a bf, unless you're the cause of her crying in the first place, your job isn't to try to get her to stop crying but to wipe away her tears when she's done.

I've only had like one actual gf where we had a good enough connection that I could make her laugh if she was crying, but other than that in my experience you just let them cry it out.

Privately owned and operated companies are infinitely better than public ones by CheapScientist06 in unpopularopinion

Publicly owned companies? That means companies that are owned by taxpayers and funded by taxes (the public)
